Chapter 22: Housewarming Party III
Another Family made an entry, this one was not so high profile , they walked to the venue. "Hello Nolan, Is that your wife?",the woman asked pointing Jasmine." Yes Rita, That's Jasmine , she is from Monkey Clan", this women looked older and more pleasant to talk to.
"Jasmine meet Rita, she is from the Goat clan her husbands are Derek, John and Chris. Derek is from goat clan, John and Chris are Lions", All of them said their hellos are sat with Lisa's family.
Nolan did not wait any longer and got the food to the table. Now, the big reveal, except for, Rita, everybody else transformed to their beast form to eat their meal. No matter how strong Jasmine's heart was, at this moment, she couldn't help but Panic, She saw Lions!!! five of them Around her chomping on meat. It was scary and she started hyperventilating at this sight.
Nolan who sat beside her, tried his best placating her, he started whispering,"Don't worry, Everything is fine, I am right here, I will protect you, They are our friends, Take deep breaths ",in her ear . She was still feeling flustered, "please take me somewhere else, I am scared." With that cue, Nolan picked her up princess style.
Rita faced something similar years ago after coming to the Lion Clan, So, she took the responsibility to explain the other guests, how herbivores get scared and flustered seeing carnivorous beasts. Everyone understood and Continued the meal. Alas! Jasmine and Nolan who were hosts of the party, had to leave midway.
Nolan took jasmine to the waterfall, it took him roughly 2 mins to reach there.Jasmine cooled down visibly with the change in the atmosphere. Once he put her down, she looked at him with admiration and gratitude, "Thank you Nolan, I was really scared", she said hugging him tightly.
"Its okay, don't worry!, let me tell you a story, years ago when Rita came she saw me and Ian eating our game , which was uhmm… a goat, and called us murderers and what not and ran away , It took her an year or two to accept us again. In my defence, our game was not a beast men and Goats taste great" , haha... , he could hear her laughter.
"Aww, poor Rita , she got it bad huh!",
"very bad"
The atmosphere which was originally melancholic became merrier, in a matter of seconds.
