The class collectively thought back to what Ying Ye Zhenshi had said the day prior.
He had outlined his intentions to sue Sudou and to have him kicked from the club or something along those lines.
It had many of his classmates shivering from how vicious he was.
Hirata was also a little dazed.
This sort of thing had still happened despite his hope that it wouldn't, which made him feel a little uncomfortable.
But looking at this situation carefully, it seemed that among what Chabashira had mentioned as his punishment, there was no mention of anything such as Sudou's expulsion from the basketball club.
So long as that was not on the agenda, it was at least a good omen.
On the narrow podium, there were now the two main players of the morning's events standing.
They were Ying Ye Zhenshi and Sudo Ken, as even Chabashira Sae had left the stage to stand below.
There were two people on the step, one with a smile on his face, and the other with a gloomy expression on his face looking like he was about to hit someone at any moment.
The difference between the two was very big.
"Sudou, don't waste any more time. There is still some time left in this class to start the lesson. "
Chabashira Sae urged Sudou Ken on.
"I'm sorry, Ying Ye. I know what I did was wrong, so please forgive me."
It seemed that Sudou knew that if he didn't apologize well, Ying Ye Zhenshi would most certainly make him do it again and again.
Sudou had finally been humiliated, as he shouted out the apology with a loud voice.
It was useless for him to use a girly soft tone to apologise since everyone would eventually come to know of the fact that he apologised sooner or later.
With the volume of his voice just now, it could be guessed that even the other classes may have heard his apology.
The students in the class looked at Sudou Ken on the stage, and they couldn't help but be very surprised.
'This guy is so brave.'
Those who knew it was an apology may not have thought much else, but those who didn't know might have thought his words were a declaration of war or something.
"Very good! Very enthusiastic of you. Sudou-san really deserves to be a member of the basketball club. Since you have now been punished, let's just leave things as they are. I hope there will be no next time."
Ying Ye Zhenshi nodded in satisfaction and patted the shoulder of the red-haired boy, who bowed his head in front of him as if he was giving his condolences to his dead younger brother (ego).
"And as for my points, you have to work hard, okay?"
Before Sudou could get angry and lash out, he just raised his head and pushed Ying Ye Zhenshi's hand away without saying anything.
Ying Ye Zhenshi didn't get angry about this either, and left the podium without leaving another word, and then returned to his seat.
Later, there would be yet another humiliating scene starring Sudou, but the poor boy didn't know anything about it just yet.
Thinking that everything was over, he quickly walked off the podium without looking back.
"Okay, everyone should take this as a warning. This is a lesson learnt since the beginning of school. In this school, things like violence on school grounds cannot happen, otherwise, the school's punishment will not be easy."
Chabashira Sae took the opportunity to speak, but how many people listened to her was another thing altogether.
"Let's begin class."
After that, it was time for normal classroom lessons.
Now, the attitude of the class was a little bit more normal.
Even Sudo didn't mess around anymore, and there were almost no students in class D playing with their mobile phones or chatting during lessons.
Although many of them obviously had an itch to take out their phones and fiddle with them, they would be watched for any small movements by their own classmates, and so they would give up.
Naturally, however, not everyone was afraid of being isolated by the collective.
It wasn't until the 'class is finally over' prompt that the class began to get lively.
Some students began to whisper about Ying Ye Zhenshi and Sudou.
Feeling a vibration in his pocket, Ying Ye took out his mobile phone and looked out for what notification he had just received.
And lo and behold, there was a message that everything had been sorted and the punishment had been dished out, alongside the fact that the report to the club management had been made.
It was a text message sent by Horikita Manabu.
Ying Ye Zhenshi knew what the older boy had negotiated between them, so he didn't bother to read the whole text.
'This guy is really bad. I've already left no way out for Sudou, and yet Prez still had to give him some hope. The final result is that Manabu's action will make him fall into despair a little later.'
When they were in the conference room, Manabu had not completely concluded their dispute.
It was not that he was showing mercy, but just a matter of him following the rules.
When all the punishments about the actual fight had been sorted, there was still the matter of the basketball club which had nothing to do with the student council.
If Horikita knew that he was helping Ying Ye out quite a bit and was actually thought of as black-hearted by Ying Ye Zhenshi, he would probably have had his mouth drop in awe (if that was even possible for someone so stoic).
[Are you OK?]
[How did things go?]
[Is there anything I need to do?]
[…]
While exchanging texts with Manabu about the announcement, text messages from Kei Karuizawa kept popping up on his phone, making it so that Ying Ye Zhenshi started messaging multiple individuals at once.
He replied to the girl with short messages, so that she would not worry about anything, and it was just enough for her to continue to maintain the status quo in the class.
He spent his whole break time responding to messages, so he couldn't help but wonder how sometimes being popular was not such a good thing.
The day passed quickly, with the class slowly entering a restrained state, the reason being that Mother Hen Hirata had started to prompt the others to work hard, and Karuizawa Kei and Kushida Kikyo were helping him out.
He was beginning to form the study group.
But it seemed they were unable to get everyone on board.
"It's stupid to think I would do questions in my free time, and even more stupid to think I would study with you guys. I'm going to practice my basketball now. Becoming a professional basketball player in the future is much better than being a nerd here."
When Hirata had gone to ask him to join, Sudou left those insulting words and then got up to leave the classroom, before Kei and Kushida joined him.
In front of his classmates, Sudo Ken would immediately fall into a rage
He kicked the table to force Hirata and the others to retreat, before taking his schoolbag and leaving the room unhappily.
