Chapter 1: The "Comedic" Prologue

Note - This is just a joke of a prologue, meaning for you to laugh and have fun. The following chapters will be far more serious (I might change this in the future for a true "prologue" however, I'll keep this in an auxiliary volume)

As the man looked at the screen plastered with the words [Defeat], he reached for another chip only to find the bag empty. He looked around at his room piled to the brim with other bags of chips and pop bottles and sighed.

He threw the bag into the wall of other forsaken bags and got up to face his life's most hazardous task: leaving the house.

'Another Defeat and I really might break my monitor, and I swear I always get these Dogs on my team. Meanwhile, that total newbie gets four fakers. Alas, woe to me.'

His name was Alexander, and his place of solitude was this basement. The place indeed had become a fortress, the walls the fallen wrappers of chips with watch towers of empty coke bottles.

But alas, his fortress had run out of supplies... Indeed, it is a most tragic turn of events. He now had to venture into the dangerous landscape known as the modern city.

Indeed, it was a tragic outcome for the home-dwelling Alexander. Like the ancient Alexander the Great, he must venture out from his small fief and conquer a vast swath of land.

Of Course, he would be conquering the ancient beast known as 'Modern City,' a truly perilous and treacherous task.

The rays of sunlight shot down on Alexander, blinding him instantaneously. This task, indeed, would be one remembered in the annals of history. His arm instantly moved up to protect his most precious body part, for losing the eye would mean an even more treacherous journey to the sacred land known as the 'Supermarket.'

He began lifting his feet and hobbled to the nearest sacred land, for that was where his favorite elixirs were stored.

In this concrete jungle, any wrong misstep could lead to a fatal encounter with the dangerous beasts that prowl in the asphalt plains.

His sacred land was in sight a few minutes later, which had felt like an eternity. However, the final obstacle in his journey to the sacred land was an intersection.

Scholars had long seen this as the most treacherous part of the asphalt plains, for the beasts known as Cars called this place the hunting grounds.

Alexander has to stay vigilant, for a single misstep in this place would send him into the afterlife. He would forever miss his grind in the hit game Conference of Myths by the famous game studio Strife Games.

Although that studio had clearly rigged almost all of his tens of thousands of matches, he was locked into this game. He was like a fly that sucked on the liquid nectar of the Venus flytrap; the aroma of bliss had hooked him in, even if it resulted in his own peril.

Thinking of that, he sighed angrily. He must have spent thousands of dollars on skins within the game. Why had they still rigged his matches? He slammed his fist on the steel traffic light in a fit of anger.

He then yelped in pain. "Ouch! Damn, Strife Games, this is all your fault! Damn you! I Curse you a thousand times!"

Seeing the then bright red hand on the traffic sign turn into a bright stick figure walking, he began his final march to the holy land.

At that moment, a truck began hurling down the street straight towards Alexander! Hearing the roaring engine, he looked in shock at the incoming truck.

He then closed his eyes and accepted his fate. He wouldn't be able to hobble out of this disaster. He began to recall his life as tears started to form in the corner of his eyes.

He thought, 'This is the end; this is how I go out to truck-kun.'

However, after a few moments, nothing seemed to happen, and he thought again, 'Hmm, what's happening? Perhaps I instantly died from that truck striking my body and felt no pain. Wait, how am I thinking right now if that's the case? I can also feel my body?'

He then considered a singular possibility: 'Have I been reincarnated!'

He then opened his eyes to the blinding sunlight. "Hahaha, I, Alexander, have been reincarnated I shall conquer this world, and you all shall bow before my feet!"

At that moment, he heard a female voice, "What a weirdo talking like that in the middle of an intersection…"

A male voice then said, "What a freak..."

Another voice confirmed as they walked across, "Must have a few screws loose."

Alexander's eyes widened as he looked at the scene around him. The truck, which he had thought would surely kill him, merely stopped five feet before the crosswalk.

He nervously started to chuckle. Embarrassed, he quickly began to run towards the supermarket. However, just as he was about to enter the place, he heard a whistling sound that seemed to be coming from above his head.

Alexander then looked up and squinted, trying to see what was making that noise. Perhaps it was someone above a floor with their window open?

At that moment, he saw what was making that noise; a giant chunk of the building had seemingly begun to fall from it. In a panic, he tried to rush into the supermarket. However, before he could get in, the doors had closed, and he hit his body on the glass and fell backward.

He tried crawling away; alas, it was too late. In the next moment, his life flashed before his eyes, and he had so many regrets. He was a disappointment; he had wasted his life and hurt those who loved him the most.

He thought, 'If only… If only..'

The chunk of the building then collided with the sidewalk and Alexander.

Alexander's vision went dark at that moment.

The next chapters will get a little more serious. However, I'd like to keep the story somewhat light-hearted with a twist of seriousness.
