Chapter 9: Chapter 9: Meeting the Moon Goddess

I think I'll pass out from the shock.

She's the Moon Goddess! Oh my goodness! No one has ever met her in person and if they have met her then that would only mean they were dead.

Well at least that's what I think because no one has ever been brought back to life and say they've met the Moon Goddess.

Now what do I say? What do I do? How does one address the Moon Goddess? I do not want to make any mistakes and upset her.

The main question is how I'm able to see again? I was really thinking about it when I heard her chuckle softly.

"I returned your sight so you could see me and you don't have to be formal with me, my child".

"I know that I'm the Moon Goddess but I would rather you talk to me like your long lost best friend than be afraid of me"

I thought about it, "Pardon me, I didn't want to sound rude and disrespectful. It's an honor for an omega like me to meet you".

I bowed gently in reverence.

"You were not born to be an omega, what happened to your parents was not your fault neither are you their murderer".

She smiled sadly at me and continued, "You were born for great things, fate has more for you than you think. You are to become a great warrior revered by all. You are the protector of the were-race".

Shocked is an understatement of what to call this emotion because my jaw is hanging open as we speak, I'm just surprised it's not touching the floor.

"Your true mate awaits you chosen one, to love, protect and support you".

My mouth snapped closed and my lips formed into a thin line as I remembered my ordeal.

"There is no such thing as love, I totally disagree on that part!"

I try to calm down from my unexpected outburst as she looked at me sadly.

"I'm really sorry, it was not my intention to lose control of myself like that. And No, I think you might be mistaken… I'm no great warrior. I mean look at me, I can't even defend myself so how do I defend others".

I don't even have any training experience which is why I'm here in the first place, I can't even kill a mosquito so what's this about being a protector?

"Whatever you faced was to make you strong, you survived. You'll meet many people on your journey, some bad or good. You'll decide who you want to let in"

She enclosed me in a motherly and friendly hug which I really needed, it reminded me of my mother and I stifled a sob.

"No more crying from now on, always remember that people are jealous of other people's success. They'll try to bring you down but make sure you don't lose your will to fight. You are special my child, do not forget that.

She released me from her hug, "Enjoy your life, you deserve it.

"But I am dead so I can't", I said confused.

"No dear you were saved by the guards of another pack. I asked the prince of the sea to send you to another pack's borders. You're currently in their pack hospital, I just wanted to have this conversation with you".

"Thank you, it really helped. Will you always help me, guide me and support me if I ever lose my will to continue on my journey?"

She smiled as bright as the sun, "Absolutely, I have always been with you but mark my words… you will not lose your will again".

"Off you go now", she said as gently pushed me towards a narrow pathway decorated with creeping flowers. I smiled before walking through that path.

It suddenly became darker and my feet slipped before I fell into a void, slipping into unconsciousness.

*. *. *. *. *. *.

When I gained consciousness, I was not able to feel my body, my eyes were heavy and closed. There was an annoying beeping sound and I'm too familiar with scenarios like this so I know what it's from.

"I'm giving you control and I'll give you as much energy as you need. Try to open your eyes and move too", Noella mind linked me.

I concentrated my attention on moving my hands but… nothing.

'Come on Adira, you're not weak, get up', i said to myself while trying to get up.

I tried some more and finally moved my fingers, it was a small movement but I heard someone whispering, "Look, she's awake".

It was a man's voice from my right.

"But why isn't she getting up? I'm tired of sitting here and waiting for her to wake up", another voice came from my left. There were two men.

"Stupid, can't you see? You know exactly what her condition is. Be patient and she'll wake up, now shut up both of you". My mistake… they're three, not two.

And this man's voice was radiating a strong and powerful aura but not as powerful as an Alpha so he must be the beta. Makes me wonder how the Alpha is.

I put all my energy into opening my eyes, after a bit of struggle they finally opened. I shut it again due to the bright lights above me and groaned.

"She's waking up, quick, call the doctor and the Alpha", the unknown beta ordered the other two and I heard footsteps running out of the room.

"You can open your eyes. You don't have to be afraid, I'm not going to hurt you, trust me", he said in a gentle voice.

Trusting him, I opened my eyes to come face to face with a black haired and brown-eyed man with a genuine smile on.

"Hi, I'm Franco. Beta of Shadow pack and you are in our hospital", he helped me sit up and arranged the pillows behind me before giving me a glass of water which I drank greedily.

"Hi, I'm Adira and I was the omega of the Red Claw pack", I said in a whisper with my head down but I knew he heard me.

"Pleasure to meet you Adira, call me if you need anything. The doctor will be here any minute to check you and the Alpha will ask a few questions… just for formality", he added since he must have noticed the fear in my eyes.

Before he could ask any more questions, a man in his mid-thirties walked in with a white coat on. He must be the doctor.

Thank God! Beta Franco seemed genuinely concerned but I didn't want to answer questions about my identity now. What should I do?

Help me Moon Goddess.
