While all these demons were kneeling and looking at me, I sensed that there were a lot of emotions in the cave. Some of them were negative because there was a lot of fear abound, but there were a lot of positive emotions as well. 

These demons likely never had anyone fight for them like I just did. The old gods likely never would have shielded them from danger. Each of these people here felt expendable and worthless when it came to their leaders. And here I was, protecting them before saving myself.

When I looked at Acacius, I saw an expression of pure joy. This wasn't the way he wanted things to get to this point, but even he was sensing the acceptance and happiness from the others. He knew I'd accomplished the first task, and the rest of the victories would soon follow.
