"STOP!" I yelled at the demon, letting my magic free. I used my power to rip the hammer from his hand and toss it aside. "You won't harm him. And just to show you that, he will be in here with me." As I spoke, I used small tendrils of my magic to pull the demon into the barrier.

At the same time, I sent a lot of my magic into the barrier. I could tell that Lucifer, Hades, and all the others had created this before they left. Likely, they had wanted my new home to be here when I arrived, but they had to have known what was going to happen the moment they left. How had so much destruction happened so quickly, though? And why didn't they warn me about this?
