Trying my best to stay calm, I spoke to Lex again. There was so much going on between us that we were both so overwhelmed. 

"We're quite the pair, aren't we?" I asked him as my voice smoothed out. The laughter was still there, but it wasn't as hindering as it seemed before.

"A quite unique and interesting pair." He said with a hint of his laugh still in his tone, as well. "And you know what, Talia?"

"What?" I looked into his eyes as I awaited his response. 

"I can't wait to see where this life takes us. We've got a lot to learn, but we know each other thoroughly. I don't think there is another person in existence that knows me better than you." Lex's free hand moved to cup my face in his. "I'm sorry that I thought it was best to not discuss any of this before we left. I was a fool of a man. Can you ever forgive me?"
