Riley decided relationships just weren’t for her after being burned twice...by the same guy. She rather be unattached in order to protect her fragile heart.
Josh is a loner type, focused on football, graduation, and making the NFL. He’s never had any kind of intimate relationship before and it’s not even in the forefront of his mind.
The two meet under unlucky circumstance when Riley needs a ride from a friend and now they’re living under the same roof. Can they find something more within one another? Or is it just another heartbreak waiting to happen? With exes popping up and trouble hiding in the dark, can they even make it if they want to?

Write a reviewI love this. I really enjoyed the way every character was introduced. I like how we slowly find out more about them and the fact that the side characters don't just go *poof* after getting mentioned once or twice throughout the story. There was honestly not a single thing that felt out of place or forced (compared to the CEO novels, this is gold for me). I don't even know what I should focus on when reviewing this, I can't find a single thing that I didn't like about it. Like, damn, this is really well thought. I fell in love with the characters and would love learning more about them. Reading this made me really reluctant to go back to reading anything else on this site. . . I demand a refund for my feelings. Now I can't read anything without getting disappointed when I notice the lack of details and realism there is in the 'popular' novels. The only reason I gave this a score of 4.8 is the stability of updates, I didn't go for a lower score for the updates because the author already mentioned this is not the story they are focusing on right now. (I haven't read the other novel they are writting, but considering how much I liked this one I doubt I will dislike the other one.)
Great characters and story. While the male main lead is a high level football player, the author focuses on the relationships rather than the sports action. Well edited and written overall. (This review is based on the full novel available on Kindle from Amazon.)
The story is the second work of this author and the focus was placed on her other work, so the updates were rare, but are now coming daily. Character development and the delivery of emotions and the whole setting is top notch. Without doubt one of the better/best novel on this app.
The relationships of the main characters is heartwarming. The story is imaginative yet deep . I felt like the scenery and settings came alive. I would recommend it to anyone.
Without fail, this author has amazed me with two amazing stories now. I read the entire book in one sitting after realizing I could get it on prime. The novel was filled with heart warming and unique characters that kept me flipping to the next page. I have nothing but praise for the author and this story, and hope to see a sequel or short side story to add to this wonderful book.
Came read this after reading The Hitting Zone. What a great story! There's a fast development for the characters and it's very fun to read. And with a right amount of drama in the middle to keep things interesting.
Great read, sad that i got addicted and blew thru the chs avaliable. Definitely satisfying enough to get through my hitting zone withdrawal.
I bought this book on kindle to support the author because I’m a big fan of The Hitting Zone, but I’m not going to lie, I was a little disappointed with the ending. It seemed a little abrupt to me, with a lot of loose ends. What happened to Colin, the foster sister that Josh has, what Riley’s family’s like, is Mark the super straight guy Jett likes, who does Mark end up with, what does Josh end up doing in the future, etc etc? Like I understand that some things can be left to our own imagination, but the ending just left much to be desired. It felt more like a online novel that had to be ended abruptly with no side stories rather than what I would expect from a book. Please correct me if I am wrong or have somehow missed a chunk of writing and also note that I’m not say I don’t love the novel just for the sake of not loving it because I’m really trying.
Reveal SpoilerI really like the story so far. Good characters and a sweet romantic development. It's just a bit hard to know where the story was after a new chapter is out due to the long breaks between the uploads 😅
