Chapter 18: New Pact

"Wake up.." A voice said silently.

The voice tried again with constant shaking.

"Wake Up!" This time the voice was a little louder.

"Ahhh! SAveee Me!!" The girl screamed.

The young boy covered her mouth with his finger. "Shhhh, you're going to get us in trouble." He was still whispering but it was loud enough for the girl to hear.

The girl nodded and the boy lifted his finger from her mouth. Still half-asleep the girl was rubbing her eyes to make sure she wasn't dreaming.

"Wh-what happened? It's late, the elder is going to make us do more random errands." The girl was still confused at the boy's intentions.

'Hmmm, she doesn't remember her random panic attack she just had, weird.' The boy was perplexed but he didn't give it a second thought.

"I have an idea of where the Harmony Sword is. I couldn't stop thinking about these scriptures. You have to come with me." He said in a whisper as he didn't want to wake the others up.

"Wait what do you mean you know where it is? The pages in the book were blank."

The boy tried to reassure her. "Just trust me. We'll be the heroes of the village. Just pack some stuff for the trip."

She replied with disinterest. "Ugh, fine. Wait outside i'll be out in a sec."

'I can't let that idiot go by himself he's going to get himself hurt. At least I can watch over him before the elder scolds us and sends us back for more cleaning in the temple or worse..'

The girl packed a few things for their supposed journey, some rations, bandages and a hunting kinfe. She put them in her satchel and met with the boy outside. It was still dark outside but, they couldn't really tell because of how bright the moon was. The boy was sitting on the ground reading the pages of the book and his eyes widen when he was staring at the pictures and words as he flipped through.

She slapped him on the back of the neck to get his attention. "How long are you gonna keep reading that?"

The boy was rubbing the pain off of his neck, "I was just studying this book, chill."

He got up and they walked towards the entrance of the village. There was the large wooden gate in the front. They noticed a guard with a large spear in front of the gate but, upon closer inspection the man was asleep on the job. They approached the guard and he was sleeping with one eye open while holding his spear. The boy waved a hand in front of his face to check if he was really sleeping.

"Man, he is doing a terrible job. I'm surprised we aint all dead yet."

The girl put a hand on her forehead, "Bruh"

The gate was 20 feet high and it was extremely heavy. They both noticed that the gate was slightly open but there wasn't enough room to squeeze through. The boy then signaled the girl to come help push the gate open. With their combined effort it took them a while for them to push the gate. The gate made a lot of noise but as they were struggling to open it they looked back constantly to see if the guard woken up. Lucky for them he didn't. They squeezed through the opening and pulled the gate from the other side. They were exhausted and it took a moment for them to catch their breath but, as soon as they were rested they continued on the path laid out for them.

The boy looked at the girl and smiled and he suddenly grabbed her hand, "I know you will fall behind and I don't want to slow down. Let's go!!"

The girl was scared but at the same time she thought of how free they were. With the wind gently caressing her face she took in the view of the outside. The grass, the trees, the open air it all felt like surreal to her. 'This is the first time I've been outside of the village...'

With a burst of speed they ran for a good three minutes until they hit a small fork in the road. He let go of her hand and took his book out of his satchel to find any clues on what to do next. While he was reading it she looked at her options. From what the elder told them the crossroads outside the village had a central pathway that led to an overgrown forest. The other two were used for the villagers' daily activities. The left path led to a neighboring village and the right path led to another path which you had to cross a bridge over water to reach the other side.

While the boy was reading through the book looking for supposed clues the girl was looking at the central pathway leading to the overgrown forest. It was darker than it was outside but, she could feel an ominous presence staring at her from the inside.

He closed his book and got up, "Whatchu lookin at? I found the pathway to the sword its to the left..."

The girl stared at the central pathway, "I feel something strange coming from this pathway."

The boy got an idea, "Uhh...Yes! That's what I meant, this pathway. Let's go." He held out his hand again.

The girl was embarrassed and waved his hand off, "Ummm...I'm fine walking by myself. I'll stay close."

They walked into the darkness of the central pathway. Onto the side of the entrance there are broken warning signs covered by vegetation.

Inside the overgrown forest they heard omnious sounds coming from all around them. It was dimly lit as moonlight shone through the cracks in the trees. They were walking really slowly scanning the area. The boy took out a knife he had in his satchel and did a defensive stance. Then all of a sudden they heard a loud noise, a growling of a beast.

The boy looked at the girl, "Let's run."

The girl nodded and they began running in a straight line hoping that they could make it out of the forest. After a while they heard a rustling of leaves and the shaking of branches. They looked left and right but it was still to dark to see. The boy suddenly stopped running and the girl not looking where she was going bumped into him. "Ow! What's wrong? Why'd you stop?" she asked the boy."

The boy was in shock he was trembling, "I-i-it's a mo-monster..."

Her eyes widen as she saw a bear-like creature with wings with long horns and teeth. It had claws long and sharp enough that they could rip a mans face off. The monster tried slashing the boy but the girl gave no second thought and she grabbed the boy's hand before it brought its meaty claw down and began running away from the monster. She was terrified, but she couldn't let him die to that thing so she just acted. While running she found a small cave and they hid until they couldn't hear the sound of the monster. The boy was thanking the girl but she shrugged it off. She then brought out some food to eat from her satchel. She gave it to the boy, "Here, this is your share."

They were silently eating in the cave but it was too quiet to rest for a bit.

They heard snarling, this time it wasn't the big monster but a smaller one. The girl leaned out of the cave's entrance and saw a pack of wolf-like creatures with wings and fangs that had an orange tint to them.

The girl had enough, "Ugh! Why can't they leave us alone?"

The boy was looking at the book again. He turned the pages and lifted his head suddenly, "We're close."

The girl was confused, "Huh? What do you mean?"

The boy showed her the book. The book had a picture of monsters guarding the Harmony sword.

"We gotta beat those monsters. It's time to be a hero" The boy was fired up.

The girl slapped him in the face, "Are you stupid? You would've died if you didn't shit your robes. We are going home."

"But we can't just stop when we are so close." The boy was pleading her to come with her.

She groaned, "Shut up already!!"

The boy was so overjoyed he hugged her. She pushed him away and covered her face because she didn't want him to see how red her face was.

The boy heard another noise outside the cave, curious he wandered outside to go check it out. All of sudden he got pulled away.

"Ow! That hurt!"

The girl got up to go check and she got bonked on the head, "Ow!"

The girl looked up after she was done rubbing the her bruise on head. She then saw the older boy with a large axe. She saw his blood-stained robes and scratched face and arms. The girl hugged the older boy and started crying, the boy saw them and joined in as well.

The older boy put a hand on both of their heads as they embraced him.

"You guys are dumbasses..."

The older boy's voice begin to fade until it felt like he was speaking underwater.

'Another dream?' Mio thought as she felt pain surging throughout her entire body.

Mio looked around and saw she was still in her 'test' gown laying in a hospital bed. She looked at the clock it was 4 pm. She rubbed the sleep from her eyes. There were books on the bed that ranged from comics to light novels, some of them had very lewd covers that made Mio blush just from picking one up.

"Hehehehehe, Senpai is gonna give it to her real good," the girl with silver hair on her beside said as drool was coming from her mouth.

Mio looked at the book she was reading, 'NSA?? What kinda book is she reading?'

The girl put the book down, "Onee-san is awake. I'll call Mastah don't move UwU."

As soon as she left Mio opened one of the books and flipped through. On the cover it had a girl with large breasts barely wearing any clothing. 'Hehehehehehe, what a naughty boi?'

An alluring woman came into the room. Mio felt like she seen this woman before. She hesitated to speak first so she looked down staring at the lewd book she started reading. She quickly put the book under the bed and covered her face.

'I hope to God she didn't see that' Mio thought as she peeked at them through her fingers to see if any of them saw. The girl with the silver hair smirked while the alluring woman was not fazed.

"Well, I see that you have awoken. You are one hell of a fighter, at least the spirit of the cursed blade is. Let me formally introduce the both of us cause I know this little rascal has been causing you a lot of trouble." The alluring woman looked to the silver haired girl and smiled.

"I am Allucard, Military Commander and Combat Specialist of the Blood Moons. I also direct all the missions that our team goes on. This cutie pie here is Ceros. She's a trained assassin and arms specialist. You might be thinking, 'Why is she wearing a school uniform right now?' it's because she's 17 and is going to graduate in the summer, so no lewding." She winked at Mio hoping to know what she meant.

'I don't what she means.' Mio was confused at the thought.

"My name is Mio. I-" Mio haphazardly tried to introduce herself but she was cut off by Ceros.

"Onee-chan we know that already. We know everything about you. You are a very special person." Ceros started giggling.

Allucard continued, "We'll be montioring you for a while so it would be nice for you to open up a little. Big Sister will hear my cute little demon's thoughts and concerns."

Allucard began to play with Mio's cheeks. She then approached closer and whispered in her ear, "There is a lot of work to be done, so be ready."

During the meeting a couple days ago.

"Her execution will begin in 2 weeks time. We will retrieve the Chaos Blade from her and dispose of her. If we let her run amok she'll become a hazard to us all. Return to your positions."

The room was slient and everybody left except for Allucard. The Director was surprised to see Allucard still standing in front of him. The director waited for her to speak.

"I have a proposal. I will keep the girl with me and I will become her mentor."

The Director was quick to deny her proposal. "Nope, I will not have a monster in my building. We could all die. The power of Chaos Blade is limitless from what I hear from the reports."

Allucard wasn't fazed. "Are you doubting my skills?"

The Director was in shock and he hesitated because of her sudden retaliation. "I-I didn't say I did but, if anything happens under your supervision it will be all on you. Can you shoulder that responsibility?"

With a serious look on her face she responded, "Sir, yes sir. She will become a fine asset to the team, you can count on me."

The Director sighed, "Don't let me down."

Allucard walked out of the Director's office with a huge grin on her face.

'Welcome to the team darlin.' Allucard thought blissfully.
