Chapter 35: Finally See You Again

These were like knives stuck in Amelia's heart, making her feel extremely painful every time she thought of them.

Finally, she made up her mind.

After work, Ethan and Amelia went home together.

The air in the car was unusually quiet today. Ethan drove the car attentively, and Amelia sat silently in the back seat.

"What do you want for dinner tonight?"

Ethan's words broke the silence gently. Then he turned and glanced at Amelia leaning against the seat.

"Anything is fine, as long as you cook for me."

Looking at Ethan, Amelia felt his thoughtfulness was precious. She had never felt like this.

Ethan was surprised by Amelia's answer, so he glanced at her, but said nothing. The unchanging scenery of driving home became extremely pleasing to the eye today. Amelia kept staring out the window as if to etch it in her mind.

"Let me help you."

"Okay."

Ethan cooked while Amelia helped him, and then they made a simple dinner. Ethan cooked well, and soon a delicious aroma wafted through the room.

"I didn't expect you to cook so well."

"How does it compare to Chinchol Manor's chefs?"

"Chinchol Manor's chefs? Is he still jealous?"

"Who said that only women are jealous, men are more likely to be jealous," Amelia thought.

Then she said, "They can't compare with you."

"I'm happy to hear that. If that's true, I can be a celebrity chef," said Ethan happily.

Dinner time was warm, and Amelia enjoyed it very much. After drinking the last mouthful of soup, Amelia put the spoon on the plate. She breathed a sigh of relief and looked at Ethan with a smile.

Ethan was surprised for a moment, then a solemn expression appeared on his face.

Before Amelia could speak, Ethan asked, "Have you decided?"

Amelia's smile froze for a moment, thinking to herself, "What else I can do besides this?"

"Yes, I have decided. I believe in you," Amelia answered.

This was a matter of life and death, how could she decide so easily?

"Why?" Ethan couldn't help but ask tentatively.

Ethan looked at Amelia seriously. His eyes were as deep as the sea, sparkling with a light water glow.

"I married you because you'll help me. And I'm already your… yours, so I trust you'll keep your promise," said Amelia.

"Promise? For my promise, is she worth risking her life to believe me?" Ethan was shocked.

Ethan nodded, looked at Amelia, hesitated to ask something, but finally didn't speak.

"Go and rest. I'll clean up," said Ethan.

With that, Ethan got up and cleaned up the dishes. For some reason, there was an unspeakable feeling in his heart, which made his heart ache faintly.

Amelia got up and went upstairs. She thought that since she had decided, it was better to do it sooner. If Bel finds out that Amelia was in a relationship with Ethan, Ethan would be implicated.

Then, Amelia went downstairs and into the kitchen, where Ethan was doing the dishes intently. This man was so persistent, and he was so serious about everything.

Amelia walked slowly behind Ethan, hugged his waist tightly, and snuggled beside him.

"What's wrong?"

Ethan stopped washing and turned to ask. Then he smiled and put the clean dishes neatly.

Ethan turned around, looked at Amelia, and patted her head, "You're like a spoiled girl now."

Amelia shook her head and walked upstairs with Ethan. Ethan tried to snuggle into Amelia's arms longer, but all her tenderness seemed to be heralding a goodbye.

Ethan had been looking forward to Amelia's tenderness, but this moment of tenderness disturbed him.

Such a long time of favor, such a gentle woman... He knew what it meant.

"It's time, I'm leaving."

Amelia got up to leave, but Ethan grabbed her hand tightly, not wanting to let her go.

"Are you sure..."

At this moment, he really wanted to back in time to the moment before he told her the idea.

Amelia nodded, looking at Ethan with relief.

"What I want to do is hard, so I have to pay the price. No pay, no gain, right?"

Amelia drove fast in the Porsche, heading towards Chinchol Manor.

While Ethan drove the Rolls-Royce, keeping his distance behind her all the way.

Amelia parked the car and walked into the manor aboveboard.

Ethan made one call after another in the car. He exhorted the importance of this matter in a serious tone and ordered to protect Amelia's safety.

Amelia found the most conspicuous place to sit down, ordered red wine, and drank it with relish.

Nine o'clock in the evening was the busiest time in the manor. Amelia's makeup was so delicate and seductive that it made her the focus of men.

"Are you alone, miss?"

Soon someone came to chat with Amelia, but she didn't seem to hear, and still sat and drank slowly.

"Hey! I'm talking to you!"

The man roared angrily, causing everyone around him to look over, and some even took the initiative to surround the man and Amelia.

"What is that?"

"Isn't that Amelia Harper? I heard she's been kicked out of the Harper family."

An informant of Bel heard the discussion and hurriedly called her.

"Where? Chinchol Manor?"

"Yeah. She seems to be in trouble. Shall I..."

A contemptuous smile appeared on Bel's face as if she had witnessed Amelia's embarrassment with her own eyes.

After being proud for a while, Bel immediately exhorted seriously, "Be sure to keep an eye on her and don't let her run away. I'll go right over."

Amelia looked at the man yelling at her and left without saying a word. All the onlookers were talking about her rumors. But she was already numb to the rumors, so she ignored them and walked out of the manor directly.

Not long after she left, she found that someone was indeed following her. She smirked and continued to walk forward naturally.

Ethan sat in the car, watching all this carefully. For him, the most important thing at this time was Amelia's safety.

"Stop."

Suddenly, a few people shouted and surrounded Amelia. But Amelia knew that until Bel arrived, they would definitely not act rashly.

"What do you want to do? Who are you?"

Amelia pretended to be panic and shouted to avoid suspicion.

Soon Bel arrived, and she got out of the car and came to Amelia. Bel stared at Amelia carefully, and a chill flashed in Bel's dark eyes.

"Amelia, I finally see you again."

Bel said, walked slowly, and examined Amelia.

"What do you want?"

Amelia asked in a panic, looking at Bel cautiously. They were no longer sisters from the moment Bel framed Amelia at the banquet.
