Chapter 43: Crystal Heart
Amelia felt uncomfortable when thinking about Bella. That woman showed off her manicure and said to her, "Your boss said I had beautiful nails."
"It is okay. I just followed the rules."
Arrogant Ethan smiled somehow, "Seems you vented your rage. She was being vexatious. I knew you could handle it."
Being vexatious? Did he know?
"Sure," Amelia replied in peace.
She looked calm.
Ethan smiled again when hearing it, but then he sensed something.
Amelia should be happy for she vented her rage. However, she looked calm, maybe too calm. Why didn't she tell him about what happened?
"Got it. It's not pleasing enough. Well, it's just a start. You'll enjoy it in the near future."
Enjoy it in the near future?
Right. Bella just showed off her manicure. Then it might be her pretty face and something else in the near future. How could Amelia enjoy it?
She sneered and sat in the back seat leisurely without saying a word.
Ethan thought Amelia kept silent because she recalled some bad memories when meeting Bella. Then he stopped thinking further.
"Here we are."
Just as Ethan opened the car door, Aria walked over. She stood in front of him without saying a word. It looked like she had a bad hair day.
Amelia got out of the car and saw Aria like that. She felt it weird.
She wondered what was wrong with the two. "Did Ethan annoy his little sister? Adrian went out of town to film a scene, and Aria visited the crew. So maybe Adrian is the mood ruiner?" she thought.
Amelia thought about all those in her mind. Before she could speak, Aria walked to her.
When Aria saw Amelia, she was surprised. "She looks just like Amelia!
Yet Ethan said Amelia is dead! Who is the girl?
Their faces look alike, but the auras don't. Is she the doppelgänger?
Which one met Ethan first? Amelia or her?" she said to herself.
Aria stared at Amelia for a long time without saying a word, looking up and down carefully.
Amelia felt it strange. She glanced down at herself and realized what had happened. Ethan walked to them and looked at Aria. He whispered, "What is wrong?"
Aria looked back at Ethan and pointed at Amelia.
She said, "Who is she? You two knew each other long before! Amelia looked like her, so you married her, right? And then you left Amelia for this woman! That's why Amelia died! Is it!"
Hearing that, Amelia gazed at Aria in disbelief. She thought, "No wonder she likes Adrian. They all have a great imagination."
Ethan was also surprised. He wanted to explain, but it was too complicated a story.
He hesitated for a while and then nodded, "You are right. It is."
Then Ethan turned around and walked into the villa. Amelia and Aria stood there, eyeball to eyeball. Aria thought Amelia was Sophia, the new director, so she looked at Amelia with hostility. Amelia felt uneasy being stared at. She coughed and walked into the villa.
"How dare you! I won't spare you like that!"
In the living room, Aria pulled Amelia, which was not nice at all. Amelia knew Aria was a straightforward girl. She wanted to know what Aria would do after she misunderstood the current situation and maybe her impression of Amelia.
"What are you doing?"
Aria pulled Amelia chillily, so Amelia replied chillily.
Aria stared at Amelia with her beady eyes and spoke, "You have no shame."
Amelia was stunned for a moment, but then she cheered up. She knew Aria was talking to "Sophia."
Amelia put on a serious face and folded her arms, fearless,
"What do you mean by no shame? I'd say you have no manner."
Aria sneered and looked at Amelia contemptuously, "You knew it yourself. Ethan is married. Why are you at his home? I said you have no shame, and now I have to say you have no manner either! You filthy mistress."
Amelia didn't expect Aria to say those harsh words. However, since Aria thought Amelia was Sophia, Amelia thought she could make use of it.
"And? What does this have to do with you? Ethan and I love each other. Amelia was the real third wheel, you know. I'm way better than her in every aspect. And Ethan only married her because of the similar face. Joke's on you."
Ethan heard what she said and almost laughed out. Yet he could do nothing as girls had their fight. He just let them go, sat on the sofa, and watched the drama.
Somehow, he felt a pity that Adrian was out of town. Or it would be even more dramatic.
Aria was displeased when she noticed Amelia was shameless and arrogant. She was even outraged seeing Ethan sit there and do nothing.
"You? You are a narcissist, girl. Yeah, you are prettier than Amelia, but... You are sick inside, and she had a crystal heart! Shame on you!"
Amelia was stunned when Aria vented her indispose.
That was Aria's true color. She was straightforward and had a clear sense of what to love and hate.
And Adrian loved to experience different lives. They would be a perfect couple.
Seeing Sophia, who was suddenly stunned, Aria was somehow surprised.
"Where's her arrogance now? Isn't she fearless? Why does she turn quiet?" she thought.
"Oh, did you just get your humanity back? Then leave now. Don't ever come here again," she said.
Then Aria looked at Ethan with a serious face.
"You surprised me. I had never expected that you would speak for me. I don't think I was that nice to you," Amelia spoke with a smile.
She looked at Aria with all sincerity.
Aria was confused, "Speak for her? Did I?Is she nuts? Was I too harsh just now?"
She looked at the sincere smile and kept wondering what was wrong.
"So you are Amelia?" Aria tentatively questioned but with a firm tone.
"Yes, I am. Thank you for speaking for me and the crystal heart. No matter how my appearance changes, I'll always keep it."
