"What did you ask from Lanlan, Dad?"

He Jian asked his father who raised his head from his laptop and looked at him calmly. He Zhuang was silent as if he was pondering on whether he should tell his son or not. But in the end, he did answer his question

"I only asked her why she broke up with you when you were not at fault?"

He Jian was silent at these words. A moment later, he said coldly

"It was my fault, Dad."

He Zhuang frowned at these words but He Jian continued

"Lanlan was my girlfriend. I was supposed to protect her and her family. I was supposed to keep her happy. Instead, I brought tears to her eyes. If it was not because of me then Shen family would not have done so."

"It was not your fault, Jian."

He Zhuang tried to convince her son but He Jian looked adamant.

"It was, Dad."
