Chapter 11: Are you still in the past?

"Delete that post. I will handle the rest of the matter," Junwei sternly said.

"How will you handle that?" Sophie questioned him. She turned off the stove and stirred the ramen in the pan.

"I don't think that I need to explain it. Why did you even do it? You love to irk me, right?" Junwei sneered. He gritted his teeth. "You are lucky that I do not want to waste time on you by suing you,"

"We look good together in that post," Sophie stated.

"What?" Junwei arched his eyebrows.

"Your grandfather has commented on the post. He has no problem with it. He wants you to sign me up for this commercial deal," Sophie asserted.

"You have ten seconds to delete that post, else I will not hesitate to take legal action," Junwei affirmed.

"Fine. I will delete it but take full responsibility for it. When my fans ask why I suddenly deleted that post, more rumors will be sparked. I will tell them to ask you," Sophie said, and put the phone on speaker. She put the ramen in a bowl while speaking to him.

Junwei was unable to understand her personality. She was the one who gave her fans an opportunity to spread those rumors. "Just delete that post and you are not supposed to talk informally with me," he snapped at her.

"You also speak informally," Sophie asserted.

"I am older than you," Junwei stated. "Delete that post within ten seconds. I am counting," he added.

"I will delete it if you agree to this commercial deal," Sophie tried to negotiate with him.

"Three… Four…"

Sophie sighed and quickly opened the Instagram where she had posted it. She hesitated at first to delete it, but then she did it. "I deleted it," Sophie said, with a gloomy expression.

"Now, don't ever try to do anything like this. If you do, I may see you in court," Junwei said. He didn't give her a chance to speak and ended the call.

Sophie chuckled to see that. "He is such an arrogant brat!" she muttered and found the ramen had turned colder. She quickly went to the living room, carrying the bowl in one hand while holding her phone in the other.

She settled on the couch and turned on the TV. While eating, she watched a comedy show because that was the best way to relieve her stress. Once she finished eating, she put the bowl on the table before her and continued to watch the show.

The smile faded from her lips as she felt terrible. She ended up losing to Junwei. He finally made her delete that post.

"How can he have the upper hand on me? He didn't even check that post once," she mumbled and brought her legs closer. She rested her chin on her knees and stared at the TV screen. "I indeed have lost many shoots. Now, if Junwei doesn't agree to sign me, then what will I do?" She was confused and lost.

~~~~~~
Junwei instructed his secretary what to do to stop spreading further rumors. Wang Zexi assured him that he would make an official statement on Junwei's behalf immediately.
Junwei hung up the call and decided to go inside. In just a day, his life turned so chaotic. His phone rang again, and he found it was from Sophie. He ignored it, and when she called him again, he blocked her number.
"Can't she understand simple words? I don't want to get associated with her in any way," he muttered and took out the earbuds. He rose to his feet, slid his hands into his pocket, and went inside.
He got into bed and put his phone on the bedside table when it rang again. It was an unknown number and he knew who it could be.
He answered the call and ended up raising his voice. "I don't want to talk to you. Don't you understand the words? I hate women like you."
"Calm down, Bro! Why are you shouting so much? My eardrum almost burst because of your loud voice," Alex spoke from the other side.
"Alex?!" Junwei was surprised to hear his voice. "Why did you call me with a new number?" He asked and turned on the bedside lamp.
"My phone is lost," Alex replied. "Did Sophie call you? What did she do to make you this angry?" He was curious to know.
"Let's not talk about her." Junwei shifted back on the mattress, and his head rested on the headboard. "Why did you call at this hour?" He inquired.
"Your picture with Sophie is creating havoc everywhere. I found out that she recently had a fight with a veteran actress, and the next day a photo came with you. So, the internet is bombarded with all sorts of strange comments," Alex briefed Junwei.
"Wang Zexi will look into that. Since it is not related to my business, I do not want to stress over it," he proclaimed.
"It may get affected," Alex said while keeping a serious tone.
"What do you mean?" Junwei asked for an explanation.
"Don't you know Sophie has an army of haters and the recent picture of you two gave them good material. You are the most searched topic today on social media. I am sending you the screenshots of the comments that have been posted. You will understand everything," Alex stated when Junwei stopped him.
"I don't want to. I just don't like that woman and anything related to her. I am sleepy. Let's see each other in the morning. Also, tomorrow you will stay with me in the workshop," Junwei completely changed the subject.
"How could you not like such a beautiful woman? "I shall precisely call her a Goddess," Alex said. "Are you still in the past?" He could not stop himself from asking.
"I am not in the past," Junwei replied.
"Liar. Fang Jiao will not like to see you in this state. She is in a good place now. You should move on from her." Alex made him understand. Junwei turned silent.
After a few seconds of pause, Junwei remarked, "If she's not happy, then she should not have left me."
"It was not in her hands, Junwei. Why don't you understand it?" Alex raised his voice at Junwei. "She was in pain for two years. It was necessary for her to leave that body. You have become a machine. You are a human, Junwei. Don't live your life like a robot without any emotions," Alex worriedly said. He could not see Junwei suffering in pain for ten years.
"You cannot understand me either," Junwei said, and hung up the call in anger. He switched it off and took heavy breaths. "I am happy this way," he mumbled.
