If anyone had told me that this was how this whole thing would end, I'd have called them a silly liar. But here I am now, in tears, with my mate gone to where I have no idea of, and from the last minutes we spent together, it didn't seem like he recognized what I looked like.
I let out a ragged breath and tried to control my racing heart, forcing myself to stop crying as well. As I let my eyes wander around the amount of chaos scattered around me, I reminded myself that it was pointless to cry right now because it wasn't gonna change a thing.
I was supposed to be bursting with happiness right now. Despite everything that happened throughout, my mate and I still ended up surviving. But what is the point of surviving when my mate is not with me right now?
