Raymond Thompson held out a toothpick, winking at Percy Stanton.

As Percy raised his hand to take the toothpick, Raymond slowly pulled his hand back. He used the toothpick he had just prepared to offer to Percy to prick a piece of apple, tilted his head, and started to eat with relish.
