Breaking up with Lia was one thing, but seeing her dead would be another thing altogether. 

What if Jay had come for Nikolai? Would that mean he took even the innocent Amelia too? 

Would she be safe? 

Amelia and explosions had a terrible history, and from what Alex had gathered, he didn't want her near any explosion. But what use was he to her this time, when he had just been a few feet away from the room, and there had been an explosion that he hadn't managed to save her from? 

In the same way, he had been at the party while she and Lexi had been kidnapped and bombs strapped on them. Both times, he was sure he was the certain target. It hurt. It really hurt a lot, and Alexander wanted a break. He needed a breather from all the madness in his life.
