They looked at each other, every person to their own thoughts, dealing with a conscience so harsh that they had to rethink all they had done today. The shock was still evident on their faces as they wondered what the hell had happened at that moment. 

They knew it wasn't just about today or yesterday; they knew this was the result of so many things, a chain reaction that had finally reached the Garner table. Had they all been wrong about her, and if they were, why had they judged her so quickly? 

She had really looked convinced that her brother was a carpenter, or was she a good liar? Then again, Amelia never lied. She always spoke her mind and if that got her to hell, then so be it. 

They had known her for over six years, and lying was definitely not her portion unless she had learned that in the past three weeks, but that was not even enough time for a believer of truth to start conforming to the lies.
