Chapter 82: Cement plant (16)

After taking out the pieces of round steel, Virtya asked the knights to take out the heavy steel turbine blades.

It needed at least ten knights to carry the wide steel turbine blade out of the storage room.

As one should know, each steel turbine blade had a diameter of 4 metres and a length of a metre.

Fortunately, these steel turbine blades came when their blades had already been attached to the hub and it looked like a fan with many blades but it was not a fan because this had elongated bucket like blades which were made of steel to make them rigid so that they don't bent when water splashed onto them. Virtya also didn't forget to plate these blades with copper to slow down their rusting process because the steel turbine blades would be moving in water, not to mention that Salto river was salty which further sped up the rusting process.

Each steel turbine blade was 1 metres long and on its freehub body, the countless bucket-like blades dominated.

The knights also took out a heavy single strand sprocket with a diameter of a metre. This sprocket would be connected to one of the steel turbine blade and it was on the teeth of this sprocket where the roller chain would be attached.

Anyway, after everything that Virtya needed was brought to the corridor, Virtya decided to start doing what he had planned. His eyes were hurting because of the drowsiness that was beginning to kick in but he didn't allow himself to succumb to it because even Tanya who was staring at what he was doing didn't bat an eye, then, who was he to sleep at this time when he knew that there was work that he needed to do.

Outside the wooden warehouse, it could be seen that there was a space put aside for the fixing of the steel turbine blade onto the axle and there was already made two strong wooden stands that had a height of 6 meters each. Several ladders were made around these stands where a person could climb to the top.

Each stand was made of long three logs of wood that stood separated from each other on the ground and connected at the top making something akin to a pyramid.

Just less than a metre beside these two stands, there was a pulley for lifting components to the stand and letting them down.

The two stands were close to each other and they had a steel holder at the top where something could be held in place. In addition, these two stands were lodged into the ground.

However, just a few metres away from these two stands, there was a replica of the same stands but this one was a portable stand unlike the two which were lodged into the ground. This stand had a railing on one side which was used as a ladder while there was also a portable pulley beside it.

Virtya asked the knights to lift the round steel and take it out of the warehouse where the round steel was then lifted by the pulley and lain onto the two huge stands that were lodged into the ground.

The knights effortlessly placed the round steel on the stands and fastened it on the holder so that it would not roll out of the stand. It could now be seen that the stands only held the one end of the round steel while the middle part and the other end of the round steel were left out but the round steel didn't fall down together with the stand because of its weight as the stands were not only lodged into the ground, but they were also strong and they held the end of the round steel in place.

Virtya looked up at the round steel that had been held in place and shook one of the logs that made one of the two stands to make sure that the round steel would not fall when they were pushing the steel turbine blade on it. The stands didn't budge or shake which made Virtya to nod his head and ordered the knights to take out the huge steel turbine blades.

It needed close to 10 knights to carry this steel turbine blade. It was then lifted by the portable pulley towards the hanging end of the round steel that was not fastened to the stand. Then, the portable stand was pushed towards this hanging end and a knight used the railings on the side of this portable stand to climb towards the top of the stand so that he could reach closer to the hanging end of the round steel.
