Chapter 64: Great Change in East
Yue Mei stopped wasting words. Her slender hands began to form a strange hand seal rapidly, while her snake tail lightly slapped the sand, producing a dull thud. The sand suddenly surged, forming a sand wave that instantly rushed towards Feng Li!
A pale blue light flashed in Feng Li's eyes. "Wind Spike!" she softly shouted. Pale blue battle energy surged out, and the wind transformed into countless sharp spikes, hovering in the air. With a gentle push of her bony hand, the wind spikes shot directly at the sand wall in front of her.
*Boom!*
The seemingly impenetrable sand wall was instantly shattered by the wind spikes. The sand wall disappeared, but the wind spikes continued to shoot towards Yue Mei. Her expression changed as she extended her hand, releasing five dark blue streams of energy. These streams intertwined in the air, forming five enormous energy serpents.
The serpents hissed loudly, their tails sweeping out, knocking away the incoming wind spikes. However, the serpents gradually dissipated as their energy was depleted.
Though Yue Mei had neutralized the wind spikes, Feng Li's face remained expressionless. Her figure trembled slightly before disappearing from her spot. Behind her, Yan Shi roared wildly. The piercing soundwave made Yue Mei frown, and Yan Shi, in a furious state, joined the battle.
Feng Li's figure silently appeared behind Yue Mei, sending out a palm strike. If the palm hit Yue Mei, she would surely be gravely injured. Yet Yue Mei showed no signs of panic. Her delicate face remained cold as two dark blue energy streams rapidly condensed in her palms, forming two energy serpents even more solid than before!
The serpents' scales looked lifelike, and as their mouths opened and closed, sharp, white fangs appeared. Their fierce aura surged forward as one serpent lunged towards Feng Li and the other towards Yan Shi. In a series of swift, eerie movements, the serpents managed to block both Feng Li and Yan Shi's attacks.
However, Yue Mei's face also paled slightly. After all, facing two Dou Kings of equal strength was not to her advantage. The best plan was to leave immediately.
"Shameless humans, today I may not be a match for both of you, but if I want to leave, you won't be able to stop me. Once I notify the other tribal leaders, your deaths will be certain!" Yue Mei's breath was unstable, and her chest heaved slightly. Then, with a cold sneer, she formed a seal with her hands, and battle energy began to surge around her.
"Stop her!" Yan Shi roared, his brow furrowed. Feng Li had already turned into a gust of blue wind, shooting towards Yue Mei, but it was too late!
"Serpent Art: Division!" Without even glancing at the approaching Feng Li, Yue Mei completed the hand seal, and her body suddenly exploded, turning into countless dark blue energy serpents that scattered in all directions.
Yan Shi and Feng Li both struck out, their battle energy instantly killing numerous energy serpents. The five Dou Spirits beside Gu He also took action, but there were simply too many energy serpents, and many of them managed to escape into the sand.
Gu He frowned slightly and looked at a black-robed figure standing on the head of a giant beast. That figure was Yun Yun!
From beneath the black robe, Yun Yun's delicate face appeared, her elegant brows furrowed. With a light tap of her toes, cyan battle wings appeared behind her, and she shot off in pursuit of one of the fleeing energy serpents.
In the sand, one dark blue energy serpent was rushing towards the Snake Tribe settlement. Yun Yun looked down at the escaping serpent and quickly formed a seal. "Wind Push!" she softly called, and a fierce cyan wind gathered in front of her. With a gentle push of her jade-like hand, the wind howled toward the serpent.
*Boom!*
A muffled sound rang out as sand flew in all directions. A pained grunt echoed, and the dark blue energy serpent was blown out of the sand, transforming back into a human figure.
*Pfft!*
Yue Mei coughed up blood and fell to the ground, her face pale. Terror filled her eyes. "A Dou Emperor!"
Without speaking, Yun Yun reached out and quickly sealed several of Yue Mei's pressure points, rendering her powerless. Then she brought Yue Mei back to Gu He.
Yan Shi couldn't help but praise, "Sect Leader Yun truly deserves the title of Dou Emperor. It seems your strength has advanced once again!"
Yun Yun's face remained calm as she softly replied, "Mm."
Gu He, paying no mind to the praise, looked at Yue Mei and asked, "Chief Yue Mei, I mean you no harm. I simply wish to know the whereabouts of your Queen. I assure you I will not make things difficult for you."
However, Yue Mei's cold face remained silent, and her eyes were filled with hatred as she stared at Gu He.
Yan Shi immediately shouted, "Gu He, why bother asking? Let's take her to the other tribes and question them. If they still don't talk, we'll kill her. I don't believe that a piece of information isn't worth more than one of their Dou Kings!"
Gu He slowly shook his head. "No, that would undoubtedly spark a second war between humans and the Snake Tribe. We should take her to the other tribes and ask them."
"Hmph, hypocritical humans. Do what you want, but you'll never learn the whereabouts of our Queen!" Yue Mei coldly replied.
Ignoring her, Gu He signaled for the group to board the flying beast, bringing Yue Mei along. Just as the beast spread its wings to take flight, a powerful aura surged from the north.
The group's expressions changed. Even Yun Yun, who was always calm, reacted slightly. "Two Dou Emperor auras. What's happening there?"
Yue Mei's face also changed. "That's… the Queen's aura!"
Gu He quickly asked, "What did you say? The Queen? Is it Queen Medusa?"
But Yue Mei remained silent, and another surge of energy erupted from the north. It was clear that someone was fighting Queen Medusa. But who were the Dou Emperor experts involved?
"Could it be the Dou Emperors from the Cloud Empire?" Gu He recalled Frank's words, his face growing grim.
Without hesitation, he directed the flying beast northward.
Meanwhile, in Rock Desert City, the powerful energy fluctuations were also felt. The oppressive aura of a Dou Emperor filled the city, causing panic among the inhabitants.
Recently finished with his competition, Xiao Yu, along with Xiao Li and others, climbed to a high platform and looked toward the east. Xiao Yu furrowed his brows. "That's east of Rock Desert City. Could it be the Green Lotus Core Flame?"
Xiao Yu considered this and decided to investigate. The system had marked his sign-in location within the Snake Tribe, likely inside their temple. Sneaking in would be impossible, but amidst the chaos, this seemed like the perfect opportunity.
So Xiao Yu turned to his elder brothers and said, "To be honest, brothers, I came to the desert seeking the Heavenly Flame. I can sense its presence to the east. I must go check it out!"
Xiao Ding and Xiao Li's faces changed as they asked in unison, "Heavenly Flame? What do you need that for? That's something only alchemists use. Are you…?"
Xiao Yu smiled and replied, "Yes, I am an alchemist."
Xiao Ding and Xiao Li were speechless. "You… you're an alchemist?"
Xiao Yu nodded slightly, and the little medicine fairy beside him added, "I can vouch for him. Xiao Yu is indeed an alchemist, and a second-tier one at that!"
