Chapter 6: Chapter 6: Growth

It had been a month since he acquired the beast fire, and today was finally the moment his new technique, "Sun Explosive Fire," would officially be born. As he ran through the new meridian routes, he faintly felt his Battle Qi becoming denser and hotter. After completing a full cycle, he realized that his training speed had increased by 40%. His new technique could now be called a Profound-level peak exercise. It retained the effect of absorbing the Sun's energy and increasing the temperature of his Battle Qi, but he sensed a dramatic improvement in its explosiveness. The intensity of his Battle Qi surged with ferocious vigor, ready to unleash devastating bursts of power at his command. This newfound explosiveness gave him a stronger capability of overwhelming opponents in an instant. While running the technique, he felt the sign of a breakthrough and quickly ran the new technique in full force. The cyclone filled rapidly, and as it reached its bearing capacity, he easily broke through.

He had reached five-star Battle Master at only 10 years old. His rapid advancement would slow down for a little as he had used up all the Magma Slurry. However, there was still quite a bit of the energy deposited in his body for him to use, and his qualifications were improved through the use of it.

He got up and stretched, adjusting to this new level. Now, it was time to start refining the beast fire. Honestly speaking, he was scared; who would think that swallowing fire into your stomach is the best idea? As he took out the flame, he stared at it for ten minutes before gritting his teeth and taking out a third-grade Ice Heart Body pill that Old Turtle had refined for him for protection. Quickly, a cool mist spread throughout his body and started to seep out. Gritting his teeth, he put his fan inside the fire and spread his soul power to find the fire seed, the core of the beast fire. After two minutes, he finally grabbed the core of the beast fire and quickly swallowed it. As it entered his body, the Celestial Solarflora beast fire was unusually obedient as it easily entered the center of his cyclone and even fed him some energy that almost pushed him to six-star Battle Master until he forcefully condensed it. Perhaps it was his ability to attract part of the Sun's energy that made it easy to refine, as the relationship between the fire and him seemed symbiotic. He could now refine the Sun's energy in greater amounts with the beast fire seemingly attracting it, strengthening his Battle Qi and speeding up his practice, while gradually strengthening the beast fire. Even though it would take a while for the fire to advance to the sixth level, it was not every day you got a growable fire.

It was now back to honing his spear skills, refining pills, fighting monsters, and practicing. This routine continued for the next eight months as he steadily advanced to the nine-star Battle Master. He even advanced to fourth-grade alchemist and made four popular pills: Fire Practitioner pill, Fire Master pill, Earth Practitioner pill, and Earth Master pill. All the pills could advance the respective level by one star and could even help strengthen the foundation. The general recipe couldn't do that, but he added some of the sun's energy into the pills through the beast fire. With the spread of the pills, his fame gradually spread across the empire as the "Alchemy Monster." He even received invitations to the head prince's birthday and Misty Cloud's young sect master's birthday, but he preferred to avoid the political maneuvering. Regardless, he was still going to the Alchemy Guild in the capital as that was the only place to get certified as a fourth-grade alchemist in the capital.

He yearned for more skills with unique effects or the legendary Earth-grade skills, but that was a pipe dream in the low-level Jia Ma Empire. Old Turtle often mocked him for his awful nickname, but he always bragged about Fa Ma to everyone who came in. As for worries that any major family would be harmful to him, no one would offend the potential stock for the sect conference that would be happening 17 years later. The last one occurred three years ago, and Jia Ma performed pretty well, with five Battle Emperors in the Jia Ma Empire. The royal family and Misty Cloud Sect each had two Battle Emperors with one being a peak Battle Emperor. The last Battle Emperor came from the martial Mu family. There were also rising geniuses in the next generation, such as the royal family's "Earth General" Jia Xingtian, Misty Cloud Sect's young sect master Yun Shan, and the Mittel Family's great elder Hai Bodong.

Despite their loud reputations, the barren Jia Ma empire had all these geniuses stuck in the Battle Emperor stage until Xiao Yan came and established the Flame Alliance. This further strengthened his determination to go outside of the Empire. Old Turtle had already heard rumors of Canaan College, but it wasn't nearly as illustrious as it was in Xiao Yan's time. He planned to stay in the Jia Ma empire for one more year before going to Canaan College with Zhi Gui. A month flew by as he continued practicing, and he also started to get the idea to integrate the wood attribute into his exercises. Despite his wood attribute accounting for only twenty percent, it was still a considerable amount. To prepare for this, he practiced a couple of wood-attribute profound low-rank skills to at least get a feel for the attribute.

Old Turtle and he were finally going to leave for the Imperial Capital, and he would finally meet the characters that had only existed inside a novel for him. This faint sense of excitement made him anxious as they took the navigating eagle to the Imperial Capital. As they drew closer, he was agape at the sheer size of the capital. It was built in a circular schema with the grand palace at the heart of the city. To the west of the city lay the beginning of the Warcraft Mountain Range, and on the closest set of mountains was the site of the Misty Cloud Sect. The new sights and the fresh breeze filled Fa Ma's soul with a sense of peace; this was his first time out of the desert in the past eleven years. With a sense of wonder, he gradually paced toward the Alchemy Guild.
