Asher stared at the drapes, he didn't even know cars were allowed to have one until Pepper made him enter her car. It was an old sienna that was falling apart and it was when he realized exactly how difficult life had been for his wife and children.

They grew up poor while he was the wealthiest man in Manhattan…it was ironic. And it stung.

He watched Pepper drive and he realized she hadn't said a word since they started their journey. And he has spent the last half hour getting acquainted with the drapes. Yes! 

He had counted the ropes, exactly ninety two of them on each side except the side closest to him. There were ninety one.

He felt his body shake for a second. His lovely wife was driving into potholes…he was beginning to think it was intentional.

"You know you could drive around the potholes…that way I don't have to throw up before we reach our destination"
