Chapter 2: A hope of spreading wings!!
Chapter Two
Miranda
School's over.... I walked outside the building. There was none I could say farewell to, so why bother waiting!! Just as I was about to sit inside my car; Amanda called me!!
"Hey Mir!! Wait!!" Amanda ran towards my car. She was huffing for air. "Today's the last day.... Want to join us for coffee??" She pointed towards the students whom she was standing with a moment ago.
I smiled at them. Some of them blushed away, well mostly the boys blushed away and the girls gave me an annoyed look. I looked at Amanda's hopeful face.
"I'm sorry Amanda but dad wanted me to go home straight today!!" I told her with an apologetic smile.
I didn't give her any time to respond and got on my car. Fredrick closed my door and ran towards the driving seat. He started the car and drove away. It felt good to be away from school, from all those toxic people. They wouldn't bother me for at least 2 months. I pulled out my tie and freed open top 2 buttons of my shirt.
I noticed Fredrick looking at me from rearview mirror.
"You want to ask something Fredrick??" Everyone thought me as an arrogant brat. I really didn't want to behave like an arrogant person but no one really cared if I behaved goodly or badly. So why bother being good?? Only my father knew that it was all an act.
From the inside I was a kind person. Father never judged me for that because according to him he was just like me when he was a kid so he could understand my situation. But I really doubt that.
"It's just about what Miss told her friends. Your father didn't give kind of orders like that infact he told me to give you enough time so that you can hangout with your friends!!" Fredrick explained with a confused face.
"I just didn't wanted to spend time with them. And I'm pretty sure you want to know why!!" I raised my eyebrow at him and crossed my hands over my chest.
For a moment his eyes diverted elsewhere but he pulled it back up again. Your getting good at this Fredrick.
"Amanda wanted to spend my money instead of hers so I refused to get used by her!!" I rolled my eyes. This had been like this. I used to shut down my ability so that Amanda could use me how much she wanted without making me feeling bad. But that had to stop now.

I walked inside the front door and was greeted by my father doing something in the kitchen.
"Well, someone is at home today at an unusual time!!" I said sarcastically.
"I thought morning was a little tough on my princess so I made her favorite hot chocolate." Dad handed me his masterpiece which was my milkshake with extra cream, cookies and marshmallows on top.
"How did you know I was missing it??" I took a sip and moaned with pleasure. It tasted so good!!
"Don't shield your thoughts from me Mir!! It feels like you're blocking me!!"Dad kissed my forehead and hugged me tightly.
"It's not like I want to but I can't tell somethings as well sometimes!! I just don't want Fredrick around me!!" I explained it calmly to him.
"He ogled you with his eyes again??" Dad chuckled at me!!
"Oh my God!!!!! You knew about it but still you didn't stop it??" I light punched him in his chest. "You're really bad father!!!" I started fussing and pouting.
"Because I knew he wouldn't do anything with you!! He doesn't have guts to do that!!" Dad winked at me.
I might be old enough to run a company by myself now but still I wanted to be dad's little princess for forever. And about shielding my thoughts, dad was unable to read mom's mind. There were few people whose mind how much we tried but couldn't read. Mom was one of them. But as I am the daughter of both of them, I could read minds as well as block mine. So whenever I didn't want dad to know about my thoughts, I blocked it.
"James is the best bodyguard I have!! Till now he was following you. Don't worry; after a week he will follow you again. I didn't wanted to make you worry so I said he was getting close but I think it won't be good to hide this from you!!" Dad explained with an annoying face.
"Roe got another threat??" I asked indifferently.
"Umhmm!! He asked me if he could keep James to him for a week so I agreed!!" Dad ruffled my hair and both of us flopped down on the couch. I leaned down to dad and kept drinking my hot chocolate. Dad turned on the TV and the entertainment news filled the screen.
"What the hell is this!!! Miranda McMillan move away from there right now!! Why are you still in your uniform???" Mom yelled at me. Uniform was just a cover up. She's furious because I leaned on dad. She yelled at Roe and Melisandre for that also before.
When we were young, she used to get very furious when dad used to read story books while we sat on his lap. She's such a jealous bit... I mean mommy!!
"Hey old lady!! Chill out!! I'm not gonna steal your husband. So stop thinking those gibberish thing in your head!!" I chuckled at her and started to go upstairs.
"And you young lady stop reading my mind!!! " She flopped on the couch where I was sitting and kissed dad. Well, of course she would be jealous because dad is so handsome. He had short light brown hair, fair skin, tall muscular figure, pointed nose and breathtakingly blue eyes. I got most of my dad's features but got mom's dark brown hair and deep brown eyes with round lips. I was the mixture of both of them.
"Miranda you're going New York for your vacation!!" Dad announced when I was halfway up through the stairs.
I ran down and asked with shock, "Whatt??? Really??" I looked at them widening my eyes.
"Yess, so I can have some alone time with your father!!! Now shuu shuu go to your room!!" Mom waved her hand .
I dashed towards dad, hugged his neck from behind and kissed his cheek; earning a smack on my head from my mom. " No bodyguard pleasee????" I gave daddy my puppy dog stare but it was no use.
"One bodyguard!!" Dad told me sternly. "Mom, please!!!" Now it was time to attack mom because dad wouldn't say no to mom.
"Not a chance!!" Mom crossed her leg and turned away from me!!
"Fine but not Fredrick!! Someone from New York!!" I also said sternly. Dad heaved a sigh and agreed to my demand.
I dashed to my room and flopped down on my bed with happiness.
