/ Anime & Comics / Boruto: A Complete Reboot
Synopsis
This is an entire rewrite of the Boruto plot line.
First of all, I hate the Boruto anime. I hate so many things about it, from nerfing the original characters to the family-friendly bullshit fillers.
So I decided to write a Boruto plot line of my own. I’m not the best story writer but i’ll try.
- This will not follow the current story line at all.
- Most characters will have entirely different personalities and background.
- Will be implementing a semi-original type of power that will makes sense in the naruto universe (won’t be shown for a while)
- The Otsutsuki will still be present since Kaguya existed… but they will be changed to be less boring.
- etc…
If you enjoy the current Boruto story, this probably won’t be to your liking.
Tell me what you hate about Boruto, and i’ll see if i can implement changes to the story regarding it.
Also, i’m clueless on love interests so tell me that too. harem? i don’t know. we will see.

The story starts off with an old man reading a book to children and then the mention of an impending calamity in the future from the prophecy of the sage, this future hint of events are never great and takes away any kind of interest you might have had in the first place. Instead of focusing on the protagonist and establishing the current state of the Naruto world, it straight up focuses on the happy life and irrelevant conversations of Boruto and his lackluster friends. Despite the story centering around a ceremony and their results, conveniently everyone receives top grades like S and A, This blatant lack of realism undermines any chance of the ninjas skills and talents being accurately represented, simply put if none of these guys are special then theres no point reading about any of them. When Boruto goes back to his house his interaction with Sarada is flat and awkward, filled with strange atmospheres and moments that are supposed to make us believe they are "connected" or that Sarada's dream is in any way important to this story. They bring back retired characters as teachers that raises serious questions about the state of Konoha and the absence of new ninjas, Even Kakashi the previous Hokage is reduced to a mere teacher, and shouldn't the story at least adhere to the original lore when it comes to the teams, obviously it doesn't so that Wasabi or whatever can be with Boruto, like anyone would actually care about their future romantic relationships. The Bell Test, an iconic event is introduced but serves no purpose, since None of the characters are interesting enough to care about their actions or interactions. Boruto himself lacks any defining, unique or interesting traits or goals, making it impossible to look forward to any tournaments or battles. The school slice-of-life atmosphere and lovely writing style, and lack of interesting story elements simply don't accurately represent the essence of a true Boruto ninja story.
