"Finally found you, when fellow villagers meet each other, both eyes brimming with tears!"
He Sai was as excited as a bull, and a group of survivors followed behind him, looking like they had a fairly high survival rate, probably because they hadn't experienced an attack by the dried-up corpses.
But as He Sai ran to the tree, he suddenly stopped in his tracks.
The followers led by the chief priest all turned their heads in unison, their crazy, fierce eyes staring at this group of tempting lambs, their mouths curving into eerie smiles.
"Now do you still want to cry?"
Lu Bu'er wiped his face and said irritably.
"Holy shit!"
He Sai's expression turned ferocious, and he grabbed Lu Bu'er's arm, "Run!"
The survivors scattered as the faithful followers smiled and surged forward.
"Brother Lu, you go first!"
He Sai roared, pulling out an oversized chainsaw from behind him. When he revved it up to full power, it erupted with a deafening roar. He charged out like Lü Bu swinging the Fangtianhuaji, immediately startling the followers who didn't know what divine power he represented.
Lu Bu'er finally understood how this guy had survived, truly as a war god.
"He Sai, where did you get this chainsaw from?"
"I found a military equipment box on the way here, it had a lot of stuff in it, but not much was useful... By the way, Brother Lu, why do you smell so bad? Did you eat shit?"
"Shut your mouth if you want to stay alive, stick close to me!"
They spoke back to back, reminiscing like they were chatting in a trench, but around them were not bullets and gunfire but fanatical followers with eager eyes.
Those dried-up corpses finally initiated an attack, mainly targeting the new survivors, because they hadn't applied Corpse Fluid, so they were instantly torn apart.
The fanatic followers weren't attacked either, probably because their bodies were also rotting, emitting a stench like corpses, resembling the dead very much.
The scene became chaotic, and the chief priest targeted this difficult pair, grasping a blood-red heart pendant, he pounced at them.

He Sai shouted, "Behind you!"
Lu Bu'er quickly swung his electric baton, striking overhead!

Seeing this, He Sai swung his chainsaw and charged forward, only to be knocked down by a punch as well.
"Merely having been baptized by the Divine Tree and not having mastered Sacred Rhythm, you have not embarked on the true path of evolution, you are not real Cocoon Breakers, you are very weak!" the old priest tossed away the withered electric baton, throwing it casually to the ground.
He Sai, holding his chest, struggled to get up, and cursed, "Why does this old guy talk so much, doesn't he know villains die from talking too much?"
Lu Bu'er, his stomach churning, rolling on the ground, hoarsely said, "Don't you also often tease me when you have good cards in playing cards?"
Just as he finished speaking, the old priest's body emitted popping sounds, and he took large strides toward them.
Those cruel, blood-thirsty eyes seemed as if they were relishing their prey.
"Officer An, save the children!"
Boss Zhang, rolling and crawling, shouted, "Use the grenade!"
Officer An instinctively pulled a grenade from his pocket.

And the damage from the grenade was almost entirely absorbed by the old priest, who took the full brunt of it.

He Sai's voice faintly reached his ears, sounding both close and yet as if it was from a distant world.
Lu Bu'er barely lifted his head and noticed the old guy staggering toward him, part of his head blown off, thick, pungent blood streaming and horrifically terrifying.
