The oriental culture that involves teacher and student is very complex. It involves sponsorship, reputation, inheritance management and sometimes arranged marriages. It comes from a society where disease, hunger and war were much more common and people needed to adapt to this reality.
What I found funny about these 'I married a CEO' novels, besides having nearly identical female and male lead versions, is that the MC is always multi-talented super humans. Why does the female CEO have to marry a Bruce Lee clone? Just hire a couple of competent bodyguards. And why such an MC would need a sugar mommy? Oh well, who would read a novel about a lazy kept man, right?
