GENERAL MARCUS POV

"Pa, aren't you going to introduce your son to us "Aurthur's voice cut across the room and dead-drop silence fell amongst us.

"There is no need for such formalities" Boris interjected.

"There is a need for such formalities "Albanus asserted. "This is Borris Bram, my firstborn son from Elisera.

The moment Boris arrived, I felt it—a pull so strong it nearly took my breath away. My dragon stirred, sensing what I couldn't deny. Boris. My mate. My beast roared so loud and kept pushing me to get close to him. I was awestruck that at this age, fate had planned for me to have a mate. 

But why a human?

I bolted from the courtyard, heading straight to my chambers. My mind was a storm of confusion, the fire of my dragon's instincts burning beneath my skin. A human. Fate had chosen a human for me. I slammed the door behind me, leaning against it as though I could shut out the truth. This wasn't how it was supposed to go.
