TOR'S POV

Back at the Bay shifter pack, I spent most of the afternoon resting, and by evening, I made my way to the jail cell with the determination to get more information about the tricks that the Paradise Coven had, The faint scent of damp earth and iron filled the air as I stepped inside. Rowan was huddled in the corner of his cell, his head down. The moment he saw me, he stood, his movements stiff and slow, and bared his neck in greeting.

I took a moment to study him. His usual fire was gone, replaced by a wary stillness. Finally, I asked him "Where is your sister being held?"

Rowan's shoulders tensed, and he shook his head, frustration flickering across his face. "I don't know," he said, his voice low and heavy with regret. "The scout I sent to track her down, but they ended up dead."
