Chapter 41: HELLO MATE
Selena tried to regain her strength by eating and exercising for two whole days. She goes to the balcony for sunlight but not ready to really go out for other people to see.
"The party will start tonight and the delegates are all arriving today". She said to herself. The urge to go out makes her uneasy. She wants to see what kind of she-wolves are coming to Stronghold Village.
A knock on the door startled Selena. It's time for lunch. The servants brought her food and she just asked them to put it on the side table and gave them a warm smile before they go.
"Need to eat first". She feels hungry when she saw the delicious cook food.
Outside the mansion.
Delegates from different Packs came to Stronghold Village. They heard about the attacked that also happened to Opal Moon but Shadow Claw Pack survived the same surprised attack. All the wounded wolves of Opal Moon died after few days for a reason that they don't know but they heard that all the wounded wolves of Shadow Claw survived. All of them wants to know how they do that.
Each Pack representatives are either Alpha or future Alpha and Beta. There are also a lot of woman but their reasons are to meet the unmarked Alpha. They wanted to make a deep alliance through marriage if one of them became his mate. They heard that he has a human mate but she did not turn. So that means she can't mark him. That news is a chance for every she-wolves.
Stronghold mansion.
Selena finished her meal and she feels energized.
"Food is a true source of strength". She said while petting her flat stomach. 'Time to go!'. A voice inside her gives her encouragement. She grin.
Selena waited for the servants to take the tray of plates out of her room. Then took a quick shower and head to her wardrobe. She pull out a six pocket army slacks, a sleveless top and a cap. Her mission, is to see all the she-wolves who wants to steal her mate.
Slowly she opened her door and simply look outside. There were no servants or guards. They probably busy because of the delegates. She thought. She walked outside and gently shut the door. She lowered her cap and rushed down the stairs.
A pair of eyes are watching Selena's every movement and a grin shows.
Selena is now outside the mansion and simply walking and blending to the crowd. She can see how busy all the people in the Village. She tried hard not to be noticed. A group of people are heading towards her guided by some warriors. She remembered those warriors faces when they were in the battle field and some of them were wounded in the infirmary. She was glad they are all okay now.
She noticed the group they are guiding. It's a pack of beautiful women.
"Wow!..... They look like a Victoria Secret Model". She pouted her lips. She looked at her lower part from chest down and pat her top head. "I think I gained weight... Argh!.... Why can't I gain height instead?".
She was staring at the group of women while pouting and about to leave when she noticed some men staring at her. Her forehead knitted when she noticed them whispering with each other then grinned while looking at her.
"Do I look like a clown?". She asked herself. She remembered her mark and quickly fixed her hair down. 'They've probably talking about some freak like me'. She hated the feeling that's building inside her. The thought of being bullied again. She was about to leave when she heard a voice behind her.
"Hi!".
'Crap!.... Not from the Village, not from the Village!'. She silently praying before she turned to see who owns the voice.
A young man probably about her age is standing in front of her. He has different tattoos in some part of his body. These are the first thing she noticed. She lowered her cap more. She have no intention of speaking or even looking at him.
"Ahm... I'm Gavin from Crystal Moon Pack and I saw you.."
"I'm not a stalker nor a pervert and I'm sorry if I creep you out!". She quickly said and turned around.
"No that's not what I meant".
Selena run fast, away from the man. She felt something weird about him and it frightened her. 'What was that odd feeling?'. She tried to ignore it. She keeps on running till she reach the training ground. The field is empty because everyone is busy. Even the young warriors are on patrol. Selena was so tired. She sat on the biggest tree near the wall. She let out a deep sigh.
"There you are!".
Selena got startled that she bounced up so quickly from the ground. She was walking backwards and didn't noticed a branch behind her, she slip and almost fall. Two strong arms break that fall for her. Her hair bounced and her cap falls. Her eyes instantly landed to her saviour's face. She noticed a pair of beautiful ash mauve eyes, a wide friendly smile and a handsome face.
"Hello mate!".
"Did you came from Australia?". She asked him innocently. She always hear those kind of greetings from Australian people.
The young man laughed. "You are so funny... I like it!".
Selena just realized what he just said. 'Mate?..... Oh no!'. She pushed him so hard that she forgot he was actually carrying her because she almost fall. Now she really did fall.
"Are you alright?". The young man's face is full of worries. He tried to attend to her.
Selena hurt her back but she don't want to be touched. On her mind only Luke can touch her. But the man already grab her hand.
"Get off me!". She tried to push him away from her again.
"My princess please, let me help you!". He tried to help her stand even though she keeps on pushing him away.
'Oh my god!'. Selena can't seem to shake off the man who calls her mate and now he is calling her his princess. 'This guy is very persistent!'. She is getting annoyed. 'Let see if you can handle this!'.
"Hey Gavin!".
Another man came and took the man's attention. He turned his head to look at him when he turns back Selena was gone.
"Jake, did you see where the woman I'm with a minute ago run?". Gavin asked his friend and also his Beta, about the woman he's with.
"What woman?.... I didn't see any woman around?". Jake was so dumbfounded. He is the only person he saw from that place.
"No there's a woman here.... My mate was here!". He can't believed he just lost her. She disappeared like a burst bubble.
"You found your mate... Are you sure?". Jake was thrilled. They are both twenty years old and just took the positions of their fathers but his Alpha already found his mate.
"Yes I did and she was just standing here!". Gavin keeps looking around hoping to find her again.
"Whoah!.... Wait, are you sure she's a living flesh not a ghost?". Jake's hair almost stand. What he hates the most are ghost.
Gavin gave him a death stare. "I hold her in my arms a while ago. She is not a ghost!". He is getting annoyed by his Beta.
A Shadow Claw warrior came to take them to their respective houses. Gavin don't want to leave but he cannot ask their guide about her because he didn't even get her name, only her scent.
Selena went inside the pack house. She was thankful that no one is around. The guy she met earlier really annoyed her. She was pushed to use her ability to scape from him.
'Ugh!.... I'm having a headache!". She massage her temple. "How many mates do wolves have?". She wants to curse herself. She should have done some research before about Luke's kind.
