Chapter 1: Megastructure

---

I look down at my feet to see several bodies I've taken out dead on the pavement, their fresh blood seeping out of the holes I gave them in between their eyes...I say blood I meant oil.

Black oil.

They aren't human. Humans are rare to find nowadays as Artificial Intelligence has somehow taken the mantle of trying to imitate a normal human being.

That being said.

I kill them.

They're annoying me. They chase me down and utter that I'm of absolute priority and value for the human race--yet it's ironic of them that they wiped out most of them at this point leaving only a lucky 0.3% left around the whole Megastructure.

Looking around, the years have passed it seems.

What used to be large mega buildings and a blue clear sky are now replaced with a rather--huge tunnel filled to the brim with massive pipes and glowing wires with faint red hues expanding 8 kilometers in height and 12 kilometers in width, leaving everything dark and damp.

The only sources of light that were there were the blinking tiny white hues on the wires that left a trail to wherever they led.

To clear things up, first things first. I'm not them. I'm not like those... heinous robots going around pretending to be human. I am. I'm a human. That's why I kill them. I'm doing my kindred a huge favor.

So, how do I know the distance of this huge tunnel? Well, I've got good eyes.

"I-I...I'll give you anything...! Money..?! Women..!? M-My daughter! I'll give you my daughter too..!" a voice said below my feet, sounding very human.

I look down at it and say nothing. It's currently lying on its back, pleading for its life... The droid looked human, way too human for my liking.

It had a tuxedo on--which was now wet and doused in his bodyguard's ichor and his face...the damn droids are getting way too detailed in this bullshit. I

can see every single wrinkle folding, and every single pore sweating--it's unreal. They're really trying to mimic humans...

"Let me go. You have to...i-if the Admins found out I've ceased--they'll arrange a search and--" I raised my handgun and shot him.

I scoff.

It's funny cuz his head exploded like a watermelon would.

Watermelon. I hadn't had that in a while.

...

Its blood was black.

Good.

...

For a moment, everything was silent.

Until a whimper disturbed that silence. The sound of a sobbing child echoed on my left. So I turned in that direction.

I trudged toward the sobbing amidst the layers of pipes and wires. As I trot closer, I step on wires the width size of my torso, duck on pipes hissing unknown gasses from tiny fractures, and swipe away strands of hair-like substances hanging from above the pipes and wires that shield my vision.

It was getting louder.

The crying.

It grows louder. And louder, and louder until I found the source. Just under a tremendous pipe triple times my size, there was a trapdoor that was left unchecked.

It's rusty, full of dust, and with the same hair-like strands dangling on the edges. That's where the sobbing came from. Once I'm close enough, I squat down, open the trapdoor, and gaze upon the source.

It took the form of a little girl no younger than nine. It had long black hair that reached its feet, and a skinny frame as if it had not been fed for days.

It's eyes are watery and she's only wearing a white nightgown. She looks up at me, tears swelling down her cheeks. She's curled up into a fetal position.

I don't like it.

It's pissing me off.

They're able to imitate human emotion too?

"I-I'm...s-sorry...D-Did my father...o-offer me to..you?" it said, wiping its cheeks that were streaming with tears before standing up from its hiding spot.

Grumbling, I flipped the small switch on my handgun up one level.

"Er...w-where is my father? Is he alright?"

I say nothing to it.

"Did he...offer anything?"

"..."

"H-How long has it..been?"

"..."

"Are the admins here...? Are...A-Are you an admin?"

"..."

"I-Is he...dead?"

...

I stare at it. "Yes. I killed him."

I was curious. I wondered at that second what kind of reaction this thing would give me after I revealed this kind of information. I killed her "dad." I confirmed it myself.

"..."

"I-I...I see--"

I shot her, leaving a gaping hole the size of a mug on her forehead.

...Hm.

I shot her several more times for good measure, her body flinching and jerking a bit. I found that humorous.

Sighing, I stood up from my position, still looking down at the girl's corpse riddled with holes.

Its blood was also black.

I shot it an additional three more times before I strolled to their vehicle just in front of me on my far right. It was a ball.

A metallic ball with two dual turrets on one side and the other. Of course, I disabled their object of transportation by shooting it.

Once I reached it, I grabbed the door and ripped it away, unveiling the vehicle's interior.

...

Nothing. Inside all there was to find were pieces of metal, the cushion of the seats...and black oil.

Sighing I step away from the already malfunctioning vehicle and back to my own vehicle just parked conveniently on top of the several bodies I've dumped--anyway, my transport is an all-black motorcycle if you will.

A fast one at that. It had a V55-Hr78 engine--modified to exceed its limits--and can easily break the sound barrier but it never came to that since no one has pursued me yet.

My ride is not only a vehicle but also a convenient weapon of any choice I want.

Aside from that...

Each step I took echoed in the huge Pipe and wire-filled tunnel I woke up in. Looking around, I noticed the tunnel split itself into fifteen different underpasses varying in size and most likely expanded and led deeper into the megastructure.

As of now, I'm only assuming I haven't even covered a tiny fraction of this megastructure, as the droids call it.

Comparing my size to those tunnels, it's like comparing a summer ant to the Eifle Tower.

As I closed in on my ride, an all-black motorcycle helmet materialized above it, allowing me to grab the said helmet and put it on.

After I've done that, I get on my motorcycle, revving its engine, letting it growl for a bit before the sound of screeching tires and the scent of burning rubber filled my nose; there I drove through the corpses I fabricated, zooming past them, leaving a smoke trail.

I don't really have a particular destination, I just drive until something happens.

Approaching one of the fifteen tunnels, I don't have much of an idea where each one heads, so I go through the 7th tunnel, not knowing where it will eventually lead me.

...

I don't know what happened.

Everything's new.

I don't understand anything.

As of now, my priority is to survive. Live. I can't remember half of my life in my hollow head--so I'll prioritize that eventually.

Though for some reason, I have this unyielding rage that leaves a gaping hole inside of me I can't fill up.

I don't know why I have it, but it's directed to them. They did something to this whole thing. They did something to me.

I know they did.

It was all because of them that everything happened like this.

With them dead, maybe I can feel whole again.

How the hell did this...all start again..?
