　　Adam and I returned to our quarters after questioning the witches. The moment we entered the bedroom, I went straight to bed. Adam followed me. I was beginning to realise the magnitude of the task ahead, and I wondered why such a heavy burden would be laid on me. I was young. Adam and I were just starting our lives. How could we have pups when we had an ongoing war. To think I had saved up money to leave my country. I wouldn't have lasted out there. My mother did me a great service by allowing Rob to sign me up for work at the bloods packhouse. I honestly wish I was more understanding and kinder to her. I had a lot of things that I wish I could take back. With all the magic at my disposal, time was still my master because I couldn't manipulate it, and I was subject to it. Deep in my heart, I hoped my mother was with my father, and they had the happily ever after they were deprived.
