Chapter 21: CHAPTER 21 Incomplete Bond

　　I left my mother's house when it was dark and returned to the Blood packhouse. The moment we arrived, I headed straight to my apartment. I wasn't in a good mind frame to speak to anyone, and I prayed that I don't bump into Lola because I doubted if I had it in me to banter with her. I knew my eyes were puffy. I could feel it. Ashria was silent all through, and I believe it was to my benefit. I promised to shift the next day, but she told me to take my time. She knew we would be doing a lot of that soon, so there was no rush.

　　Adam's scent lingered in the air in my apartment, but he wasn't there. I wondered where he had gone. He must have been in severe pain mentally for Kristoff to be howling. I felt his pain a bit, but I couldn't relate because our bond wasn't complete, and I doubted if it ever would be. It was cruel for the king to forbid me from taking what was rightfully mine, but I had to keep my head down for now.
