Chapter 28: New quest
"Basic Genjutsu has been upgraded to Intermediate Genjutsu," Siri announced.
'It makes sense it got upgraded, after all, I do have a sharingan.' Kiyota thought to himself.
His thoughts were cut off when he heard footsteps in the distance. A familiar presence could be felt.
'Luna Crepúsculo. But why is he back? He should be recruiting the other vasto lordes. Wait...' Kiyota thought.
'Did he fail to recruit them? Why else would he come back?'
'Status.' Kiyota thought to himself.
The holographic screen came up in front of him.

'I got a new stat for modifications, that's nice. I can keep a track of everything.' Kiyota thought to himself.
Luna appeared in front of Kiyota, being dwarfed by the size.
"Lord, I have found a few, other vasto lordes. I have made contact with them and promised them great power if they join us, just like you asked me to, lord. It'll be sometime before decide. So I came back to serve you." Luna said respectfully.
Kiyota looked down on Luna, his giant body casting a large shadow over him.
"Tell me how many did you find, Luna Crepúsculo." Kiyota's deep voice came out of his mask.
Luna flinched, he still was not used to seeing gillians talk.
"Uh… Lord... I only found three. Each were interested, and agreed to think about it and they will soon contact me. I thought until then I might be of use to help you to ascend to a Vasto Lorde." Luna Crepúsculo answered truthfully.
Kiyota nodded his massive head and turned away.
'Three isn't bad... in fact, it's very good. This guy is amazing. He is very skilled at leadership.'
"That is very good, Luna." Kiyota's voice boomed out, echoing in the endless desert.
"I have a plan. I will explain it to you in due time." Kiyota explained.
"Of course, Lord." Luna Crepúsculo said obediently.
"Now... you've done something good. I must reward you." Kiyota commanded.
"No need, my lord. Your presence is plenty for me." Luna Crepúsculo replied.
"Nonsense, I must reward you. I shall teach you a powerful attack." Kiyota said.
"Thank you, Lord." Luna said, bowing.
"Now listen carefully. Bite your thumb." Kiyota explained.
Luna looked at Kiyota with confusion, but immediately did as he was told. Luna bit off his whole thumb, causing it to bleed.
"Of course, Lord!" Luna said with his thumb in his mouth.
"Ah you idiot. I said 'bite' not bite it off. Doesn't matter, you have regeneration. Now charge your cero." Kiyota said with a sigh.
Luna obeyed, charging up a giant blue and black Cero.
"Now, put your bloody thumb onto the Cero and channel your reiatsu into it. This will create a powerful new attack called Gran Rey Cero." Kiyota explained, his voice booming.
Luna did as he was told. Suddenly, the Cero was surrounded by black reiatsu and a purple light emitted.
"Wow... it's done, lord." Luna said with amazement.
"Good job. Now fire it at that rock. I'm curious to see how powerful it is." Kiyota boomed.
"Right away, lord!" Luna said with excitement.
Luna fired his Gran Rey Cero at the rock, and a huge explosion occurred, shaking the ground. When the dust settled, there was a giant crater, and the rock was nowhere to be seen.
'…I'm kinda scared of this guy...' Kiyota thought to himself.
"Impressive." Kiyota's voice boomed.
"Thank you, lord." Luna said, with a slight embarrassed tone.
"Let's go on a hunt. I want to try and become a Vasto Lorde as fast as I can." Kiyota said.
"Yes, my lord." Luna said, looking up at the giant gillian.
"New quest. Check quest panel." Siri said in kiyota's head, interrupting him.
Kiyota opened the quest panel.

'A month, eh? I guess I can do that. But what is "gluttony"?' Kiyota thought to himself.
"You'll know." Siri said, amused.
"I hope so. Anyway, let's go, Luna."
"Yes, lord." Luna Crepúsculo.
"..."
"What?" Kiyota asked Luna.
"You're kind of slow... My lord." Luna replied.
"..."
"Shut up Luna." Kiyota said, as he started to slowly walk towards the nearest source of reiatsu he could sense.
'Rapid regeneration is simply amazing. My wound is already almost healed.' Kiyota thought as he winced.

In the World of the Living. Rukia was running through the dark streets of Karakura Town. Suddenly, a familiar voice cut through the night air, stopping her in her tracks.
"It's been a while... Rukia."
Rukia's eyes widened in shock as she turned to see someone crouching on top of a telephone pole, silhouetted against the full moon. The gleam of a drawn zanpakutō caught her eye as the figure grinned menacingly.
"Renji... Abarai?" Rukia whispered, her voice a mix of surprise and apprehension.
Without warning, Renji leapt from his perch, his zanpakutō slashing downward as he fell towards Rukia. She barely had time to react as the blade smashed into the ground before her. As the dust settled, Renji pointed his blade at a stunned Rukia.
"You've gotten soft, Rukia. A couple of months in the World of the Living, and you can't even sense an assailant from Soul Society right behind you? Pathetic."
'Why is he here? Have they discovered...?' Rukia thought to herself.
Renji's voice cut through her thoughts. "Tell me, Rukia. Where's the human who stole your powers?"
Rukia's eyes narrowed.
"You're being presumptuous, Renji. Just because I'm in a gigai doesn't mean I've lost my powers. And to think a mere human could steal a Shinigami's powers... that's absurd."
Renji's eyes narrowed, clearly not believing her words.
"Don't lie to me, Rukia. We both know the truth. Your extended stay here was just borrowed time. Now, it's time to face the consequences of your actions."
"Oh... You don't believe me? Fine then. Hado 1. Sho!" Rukia said as she put out her hand and fired a ball of white light at Renji.
