I wake up again, this time I'm slightly more conscious of my surroundings.
The hand that was once grasping my own was now gone.
Then I hear a new voice coming from near my bed.
"I'm very sorry, your highness. This is the most we could do without her being conscious and present. As we've told you the mate bond is eating away at her health, but we are not able to reinforce the magic until Healer Helix has returned from the lower mountain."
A trembling voice was saying, as if they were nervous and forced into this.
"Doctor, I did not ask you to give a half-assed job and pretend that everything is okay. This is very serious and I do not plan on letting this woman
die."
This voice on the other hand was stern and confident, mysterious even. I couldn't identify it, but it was sending chills down my spine, but it was not good.

I don't know when I had fallen asleep again, but this time when I woke up I was extremely alert.
A sharp pain was stabbing at my head, I could finally move!
I finally opened my eyes, I started freaking out. I sensed my hand move and my legs start kicking, but I still couldn't figure out what was happening.
I felt a warm hand engulf my own, sending sparks up my spine, but it was the same as earlier, it was creepy and unsettling.
It was the same hand as before, bringing a strange uncomfort.
"Sarina. Calm down, please"
I had heard this voice earlier, while I was unconscious. It was not comforting, but if I wanted to figure out what was happening I had to get my bearings together.
My body somehow listened to him, and not me, and I slowly started peeling my eyes open.
The face that came up in front of me was new, I had only seen it before when I went to the castle for the first time... it was the king.
Corners and shadows that made him look almost as mysterious as he was unsettling.
It was only then that I looked around.
I was in a large room, bigger than my entire house back in the village.
"W-what happened to me? Why am I in this room? Where am I?"
My voice sounded foreign, even to myself. It was raspy and shaking, as if I hadn't spoken for months.
It left me wondering what really happened yesterday.
"Sarina, I am Alexader Kristakos, better known as the King of the North. You've a lot to catch up o-"
I cut him off when he introduced himself, as angry as I was curious.
" First of all, Your highness, what HAPPENED to me?
Second, why are you holding my hand.
Third, what is wrong with me?"
Before I realized it was happening, the desperation hit my voice like a ton of bricks.
I couldn't stop it, being this vulnerable is not something I like to do.
This made him seem slightly angry, but he seemed like he was trying to hide it.
"Sarina, I am your mate."
