Rose stood on the dais of the throne room taking in all the young Hunting Majors milling about in their uniforms. Trackers and surveillance in green and brown, and fighters in blue and black. She took an interest the ones whose weapons were in view. Swords, guns, even a few lances and axes.

She never really understood why Alonians had a militaristic training program in their school, but no formal military. Although, according to history King Muraco wanted Alonia to be a paradise where magic users could feel safe from persecution, especially shifters. He didn’t want the country to be a place where people felt threatened. It was supposed to be paradise.

Rose doubted Muraco had predicted the rise of Greencrest, The Lonisterian Civil War or the massacre in the Iotòn Kingdom.
