"Even a humble warrior can surpass an elite through relentless effort." - Son Goku.
**
(A/N: Chronoa's POV and Third-Person Author's POV)
Something was amiss, yet she couldn't quite pinpoint what it was. However, she had a gut feeling that whatever had transpired was awry. There was an itch in her mind, a sense of unease.
As she began making her way toward the Time Observatory chamber, she pondered: ["Was there something wrong in her memories? But the question is, what? Perhaps the anomaly lies within the timeline. Let's see if something's amiss. I'll check with TOKITOKI. If it's fine, then the timeline must be secure, right?"] thought the Time Kaioshin.
Upon arriving at the temple, Chronoa spotted TokiToki calmly soaring, seemingly unaffected by any disturbances in the timeline. However, more question marks loomed in her thoughts. ["If Tokitoki is fine, then this timeline should be accurate. No temporal anomalies were created, and no demonic forces were unleashed."]
Chronoa observed TokiToki's serene flight within the temple, apparently devoid of any signs of disruption in the timeline. Yet, her intuition persisted, teasing her with the feeling that something was genuinely awry. She decided to approach the situation cautiously, conducting a more detailed inspection.
As she drew closer to TokiToki, Chronoa noticed an odd shimmer around the divine bird. A subtle and unusual aura seemed to envelop it, something she had never witnessed before. She approached slowly, maintaining caution as her gaze remained fixed on the creature.
"What's wrong with you, TokiToki?" Chronoa murmured, addressing the bird with a gentle voice. "It's as if something has changed, but I can't quite comprehend what."
While Chronoa scrutinized TokiToki more closely, the bird emitted a small chirp in response to her voice. However, the sound was different from its usual tone, slightly sharper and more melodic. Chronoa furrowed her brow, intrigued by this peculiar reaction.
["Hmm!"] Chronoa felt something. For some reason, a tingling sensation spread across her sacred region. ["But we Kaioshin, even if we have a gender, shouldn't be feeling like this."] Chronoa thought, perplexed by the experience. (A/N: It's kind of like being asexual. Like Kaioshin are born from a sacred golden fruit in the Sacred World of the Kais.)
For a moment, Chronoa froze as a bolt of realization coursed through her entire being. She recalled, ["How did she have a daughter? It should be impossible for her to bear a child. How did she find herself ensnared in such a cunning trap?"] Chronoa thought. (A/N: In my opinion, she plays a role in showing interest in men like Trunks, but I don't really think she acts on her impulses. In other words, it's like being a baker - she kneads the dough but doesn't eat it.) (P.S.: Now, before anything else, Chronoa has a different version where she becomes more mature, so to speak... hehehe.)
Chronoa grappled to understand the sensations that were surfacing within her. The revelation that she, as a Kaioshin, was experiencing something as human as tingling and discomfort in her sacred area was bewildering. These feelings were entirely new to her, sparking a flurry of conflicting thoughts.
Just as Chronoa managed to emerge from the momentary shock of her being, a young Kaioshin girl appeared before her.
"At last! Mother. Today, you promised to teach me how to perceive the flow of time," the Kaioshin girl said, her tail swaying like that of a monkey.
In an instant, Chronoa recalled the name of this girl; she was none other than her daughter. And her name was... Verdandi. (A/N: Given that Chronoa's name is derived from Chronos, I've chosen the goddess Verdandi as a representation of time. XD.)
"H-Hold on a moment, dear. Your father, his name is... H-His name," Chronoa stammered embarrassingly, struggling to recall the man's name.
Verdandi tilted her head, looking at her "Mother" with a strange expression. "His name, Mother, is Ethan," Verdandi said, locking her gaze onto her mother.
[As she remembered "Ethan!" Chronoa recalled that Saiyan who was with... Gina? Um... Right, I need to talk to Trunks, Bulma's son! Yes! He might know something!] Chronoa thought excitedly, yet she still gently grasped her "daughter's" hand. "Alright, let's go see Bulma's son," Chronoa said, puffing out her nonexistent chest in her Loli form.
Verdandi tilted her head once again and spoke, "Mother, you want to talk to Bulla."
This caused Chronoa's momentum to come to an abrupt halt, immediately after starting.
[No Trunks? Does that mean he's been erased in some way, and now Bulla, or rather, a gender swap?] Chronoa pondered, now uncertain about what to do. After all, even if she wanted to try to bring back Trunks, it meant altering the original timeline.
"Verdandi-chan, could you tell me who Bulla's father is?" Chronoa asked softly, addressing her daughter.
"Of course, it's Ethan! Just like the other sisters," Verdandi replied to her mother, who was acting quite strangely today.
Chronoa was taken aback by the information Verdandi was providing. The name "Ethan" was entirely foreign to her, and the concept of having other "sisters" further muddled her mind. She gazed at the young Kaioshin girl with a mixture of surprise and concern.
"Verdandi-chan, you need to tell me more about this," Chronoa said, attempting to stay calm, although her mind was in turmoil. "Who is Ethan? And why do you have sisters? It doesn't make sense... it shouldn't even be possible for us Kaioshin."
Verdandi looked at her mother curiously, recognizing the confusion her words had caused. "Mother, you seem troubled. Ethan is the father of all of us. He's a mighty Saiyan warrior (with some other bloodlines mixed in) who safeguards the eras. As for my sisters, we are the offspring of his wives, of course."
Chronoa absorbed Verdandi's words, attempting to process the flood of information. She began to recall a previous era, a timeline that seemed to be intertwining with her current memories. Ethan, the Saiyan warrior, was connected to her somehow, and he appeared to play a significant role in her life.
As the memories intertwined in her mind, Chronoa experienced a wave of conflicting emotions. She was bewildered, surprised, and somewhat frightened by this revelation. Her heart raced as she started connecting the dots between the past and the present.
"Verdandi-chan, I... I remember now, vaguely," Chronoa said, running a hand through her hair as she attempted to organize her thoughts. "Ethan... He was important to me, to us. And these sisters... His wives. It all feels so distant and yet so close."
Verdandi nodded in understanding,
recognizing that her mother was grappling with a surge of information that had been shrouded in some way. "Mother, perhaps it's best if we sit down and discuss this calmly. I understand it's a lot to take in all at once, but we're here to help you make sense of it."
Chronoa sighed and agreed, following Verdandi to a quiet corner of the temple. They sat down, and Verdandi began to share more details about the emerging history in her mind.
"Ethan was a hero, a guardian of the eras. He fought alongside other mighty warriors to maintain peace and stability across the timelines. He and his wives... they were like a united family working to preserve the temporal balance."
Chronoa listened attentively, feeling the puzzle pieces gradually falling into place.
"Verdandi-chan, you mentioned other sisters, right? Where are they now? And where is Ethan?" Chronoa inquired, concerned about the fate of these individuals seemingly tied to her.
Verdandi lowered her gaze for a moment, her expression tinged with sadness.
Chronoa clenched her fists, a mix of determination and anxiety coursing through her. It was essential to gain a better understanding of the situation involving Ethan, her sisters, and to fathom why these details had been erased from her memories. She couldn't let these gaps in her past remain empty.
"Verdandi-chan, let's investigate this together. We need to uncover what happened and find a way to bring these people back. The timeline may have been altered, but we have the power to set things right," Chronoa said, her expression resolute.
Verdandi smiled at her mother, grateful for Chronoa's willingness to tackle this mystery. "Mother, I'm glad you're willing to do this. With you by my side, I'm confident we can restore the balance that was lost."
The two Kaioshins rose to their feet, sharing a look of mutual determination. The journey to unravel the secrets of the past was just beginning, and they were prepared to face any challenges that lay ahead.
