8.51% Billionaire's Promise / Chapter 8: Drunk and Harassed

Chapter 8: Drunk and Harassed

Her feet felt frozen to the floor as her husband and step-sister went past her. She forced her weak body to focus on what was happening. Selene didn't even care to know at her husband's room, she pushed the door, letting herself in.

"What's the meaning of all that Jackson?" She asked, her voice so low, attempting to conceal her anger and hurt feelings.

"What's what Selene?" He asked, turning towards her.

"Did you think, after you seduced me and practically begged me to take you, you own me now?" Jake said his unaware each word spilled poison on Selene. How could he accuse her of seducing him after she'd given him her all?

Selene raised her hand and slapped him before she could control her actions. Her heart bled at his words.

"How dare you, Jackson?" She asked, her voice breaking. "I thought I was okay with your rejection and all but bringing Lilian here? What were you thinking?" Selene asked, not caring that Jake still looked surprised from her outburst.

Jackson felt hurt seeing Selene that angry. He knew he had taken something important from her, and it was low of him to shun her like that. But he had to fulfill his promise to Lene.

"You knew from the very beginning there was never going to be something between us, Selene, so don't act hurt," Jake clarified, feeling his heart twitch. Had he gone too far with his words?

"As for Lene she's my childhood sweetheart and I promised her marriage, but since I got the wrong sister, she'll stay here until our divorce after everything settles down," Jake explained seeing Selene's flushed face turn red from surprise.

"What do you mean by you promised her? Not that it is any of my business, but what's that about our divorce?" Selene asked, feeling humiliated.

She didn't know what to worry more about; her step-sister or the divorce. Either way, it meant the end of her mother's legacy and company. She couldn't allow that, since she'd intended to take it back from her father.

"Didn't you read the contract?" Jake asked, surprised at her snobbish behavior.

It struck her at that point that she didn't even read through it. "No I didn't but so what?" She said as she looked into his eyes as if challenging him.

"Well, if you had read you could have seen, it states we'll stay married until everything settles on my side, that's until I gain full access to the company," he said raising a brow at her.

"But of course you'll stay as my wife for two years then we'll fake a breakup and sign the divorce papers," he added. It seemed like he had thought it all through. At this point, all Selene could hear were distant voices. It was as if she were not even there physically.

"Okay, can I at least go out to meet my friend?" Selene muttered feeling drained. It seemed Lilian was always destined to have all that was hers. Her fighting strength was over.

"No you can't, considering your bad drinking habits, no you can't go anywhere," Jake stated bluntly as if grounding a small child.

Selene looked at him in disbelief and walked out if the room without another word. She messaged Charlotte to meet her at a different bar determined to break the stupid rules.

Hours passed as they drank, all Selene could talk about was her bad luck. Charlotte seemed to mirror her friend's anger.

"I swear one day I'll kill that Lilia b*itch or whatever you call her," Charlotte voice slurred as she cursed.

"Well now she has it all, am sure her parents are proud of her," Selene wallowed back in self-pity. The alcohol was really getting to her head.

"Today is your night, love, let's dance!" Charlotte exclaimed, dragging her to the dance floor.

"Yeah gal, let's dance," Selene shouted back, swinging her hips in her blue dress as much as she could.

"Let's dance, beauty," she heard a familiar voice from behind her, followed by hands creeping onto her waist.

Selene turned only to find the bartender who connived with Lilian against her.

"How dare you touch me!" She shrieked, feeling anger rise inside her. She raised her hand up gathering all her strength and landed a slap on him.

"After what you did you still have the nerve to come near me!" Selene shouted, her voice out of control. She could finally feel some relief, finding someone to channel her anger to.

"How dare you hit me b**tch?" He asked, walking swiftly towards her drawing attention towards them.

"Woah, and what do you think you're doing?" Charlotte intervened, standing in front of her best friend.

"You want to beat her after what you did to her?" Charlotte asked furiously.

"What's going on here?" Jake's voice resounded in the crowd. It seemed like time had come at a standstill. The music at the club seemed to have died down. All attention on the argument.

Selene thought she had misheard. How did he locate her after she had even switched off her phone?

"It's this good for nothing, trying to attack Lene!" Charlotte responded angrily.

Jake looked at Selene who seemed speechless and frozen from seeing him.

"Is that so?" Jake asked, looking at the man who was a bartender at his club. He had laid him off after finding out he was spotted with Selene who was now his wife. And to believe that they were fighting here? He found it difficult to believe Selene didn't sneak out to meet him.

"Didn't I want you to stay away from my wife!" Jake's voice boomed in the room, causing gasps. He didn't care whether he had publicly claimed her as his wife.

The man seemed to tremor in fear. "Sorry Mr. Lynn, it won't happen again," the man stammered trying to explain.

Selene's eyes widened hearing him call her his wife publicly, knowing deep inside he didn't mean it.

"Be certain it won't because you'll rot in jail for laying a finger on her," Jake said, taking Selene's hand and dragging her with him towards the exit.

Throughout out the drive back to the mansion, no one seemed to want to address what had happened. Selene stepped inside the mansion, splinting towards her room when a hand stopped her.

"You disobeyed my orders Selene and there are consequences for your actions you should know that," he warned pulling her closer to him trapping her between his arms.

"What do you want to do, Jake? Isn't your lover here?" Selene desperately said, afraid that if he moved an inch closer, all her hatred would melt into something else.

"Oh, so you still want me, but you're afraid of your sister?" Jake asked as he moved his hands to hold her waist. The way she looked in that blue dress would drive any sane man crazy.

"No Jake this is wrong, let me go, or I'll scream right now," Selene bluffed feeling her knees almost give out under her.

"Oooh I would love to hear you scream out my name again but not in fear but in pleasure," he said against her lips. He had done something he never thought he would do, claim her publicly. But now practically the whole city knew about the incident at the bar.

She drove him crazy as watching her breathless against him made him feel on top of the world. After that night with her, he didn't know how to stop himself from wanting her more and more.

He had stayed away to wash it off his system, but she was imprinted in his heart and brain like a tattoo.

Selene felt her body getting hot by the minute. She gave in as his lips met hers as they moved in sync.

Jake pushed away abruptly sending her almost to the ground.

"You are so easily manipulated, Selene, so cheap!" He huffed as he threw her a disgusted look.
