Chapter 43: Yes, I will

After the dinner, Ethan invited Esmeralda for a walk in the garden and she gladly accepted it. After such a tense job, she believed that she deserved a break. And even in the dark, she could see how beautiful the garden of the estate was. They began walking silently next to each other. The sky was extremely beautiful with stars covering it and a brilliantly lit moon hanging over their heads. 

"Are you angry?" Ethan asked Esmeralda a while later. She was extremely silent and he had never seen her this silent before. This made him feel as if she was still pissed at what happened inside. He had expected some resistance from Violet and Asher but the resistance surpassed his expectation. 

Esmeralda turned to look at him and blinked. "Why would I be angry at you?"

Actually, she was not angry. Just a little tired. She just needed a moment to recharge to go back to her normal self.
