More than this, she expected him to soothe her charring heart by saying something gentle. She was another big fool to expect this. But humans are fucking weird and they had a habit of making expectations from people who didn't even have a clue that someone is expecting something from you!

Ethan stared at Esmeralda as she was sitting on the dinner table, deep in thought. After a thought, he said,  "I apologize."

Esmeralda tsked. "Can't you let me hate you?"

Now she felt even more shitty. What's wrong with her? 

Oh everything is wrong with her. Good. Excellent. Perfect! 

"Why would you hate me?" Ethan furrowed his brows.
