His gray hoodie. His anxious, perfect mouth and his determined eyes, scanning. My heart melts but pounds faster, and I'm not sure if it's because I want him so badly or because I know I can't have him. Still searching, his eyes find me. He walks over. "You're here."

Something about the way he says it makes my chest compress. I gesture around, raising my voice so he can hear me. "Packed house."

"What'd you expect?" The corner of his mouth curves up.

"Not this."

Alex moves closer, speaking into my ear so I can hear him better. "Impressed?"

The word makes me tingle, and I feel it shiver down my spine. I have to bite my tongue from instantly agreeing with him. "Definitely surprised."

"You can say it." He pulls back with a grin. "You're impressed."

I roll my eyes, doing my best to fight off the rising blush as I gesture around again. "Is it always like this?"

"Like what?"

"Ridiculous," Savvy jumps in.
