While watching Snow eating ice cream with Ana, I’m standing on the balcony while talking to Pierce on the phone. He called to ask if I’m okay and he told me that he was almost harrassed by the media while jogging early in the morning.

“How about Phoebe? The issue might affect her too.”

[Dad hired some bodyguards for her. She’s fine. I’m more worried about Snow. She won’t have the freedom to go out and roam around freely anymore.]

I took a deep breath and held onto the railing. “Yeah. I’m worried about her too.”

A deafening silence reigns us. I don’t know why I’m just standing there while listening to his breathing. Perhaps because the circumstances are pushing us away from each other.
