Chapter 49: Chapter 49: Goodbye and Good Riddance

A blimp was being driven by some criminals dressed as multi-colored birds as it flew through the city, leaving the civilians stunned.

"It's just so good being bad!" the leader said.

The criminals were in fact, holding a group of hostages in their blimp, the leader laughing out before contacting his partners.

"The city's at our mercy! Get the weapons ready. Disrupt the helium flow."

"Can't!" one of his accomplices said. "I've got my talons full with some giant root!"

"I'm sorry? Root?" Wildvine asked as he dropped down in front of the blue-suited villain. "Get a clue, dude. I'm a vine."

"And I'm a Huntress!"

Said heroine flew down on a rope from the blimp and slammed into the blue bird criminal with a smile before she unsheathed her spear and pointed it at him.

Wildvine punched out several stretch-punches that slammed into him as Huntress used her spear to trip him up before she threw him over the edge and he slammed onto the lower balcony where Lucky Girl was waiting as she fired up a spell.

"Badickinis Metalalurca!"

The metal support beams wrapped themselves around the blue criminal, trapping him in the bindings.

"It's good to be a hero," Lucky Girl said, flipping her hair.

A green-suited bird criminal strapped a bomb to the engine of the blimp and armed it for detonation.

Suddenly, the door opened and a blue metal-coated Matter Girl came in and slammed a massive sucker punch to the jaw as Max walked in with her as he deactivated the bomb.

"I promised my grandkids a relaxing ride, not you!" Max shouted as Matter Girl kicked his unconscious form in anger.

The orange-suited leader walked amongst his hostages, smiling.

He typed in the code on his bomb, arming it. He smirked as he saw a pink butterfly form fly into the building and slam into him with a well-placed kick before she flew him onto the roof of the blimp with a smile as she ripped his wing pack off of his back and smiled.

"You've just been grounded, bird boy!"

She then strapped the ticking bomb and activated the jet pack, sending the bomb flying off as it exploded in the air as the crowd and hostages below cheered as the team regrouped inside of the blimp.

"Omni-Team! Omni-Team!"

Battlefly flew the leader down as Wildvine wrapped the three criminals up in his leg vines before Matter Girl cut them off.

"What can we do next, Grandpa?" Wildvine asked excitedly as the Omnitrixes timed out.

"Now, we get you to school, Ben and Jen. Summer's over," Max said with a smile.

"What?!" Ben and Jen shouted in horror and disappointment.

The Rust Bucket drove onto the road as everybody packed up their things in slight disappointment that the greatest vacation of their lives was now over.

"Aw man," Ben said, packing his backpack along with the others. "Can't this thing go any slower?"

"If we go any slower, we'll miss the first day of school, Ben," Gwen said with a sigh as she slipped her watch off and placed it into her backpack along with the others.

"Duh, that's the point, braniac."

"It's my first day of school in five years," Becky said. "Mom and Dad are going to shower me in hugs and kisses when they see me."

"I know they are," Gwen said as the twin sisters hugged. "I can't wait."

"Me either."

"What about you, Allison? You don't have a home."

"I guess I'll stay with your grandfather. Get a job somewhere in the town until I make enough for an apartment."

"Our parents can help you out a bit with that," Jen said as she hugged her. "I guess this is goodbye."

"Oh, you can't get rid of me that easily, Jen. I'll be around," Allison said, returning the hug.

"Don't want the summer to end, guys?" Max asked the twins.

"What?" Ben asked. "So we can go back to our old normal boring life in totally boring Bellwood?"

They passed a sign that said "Welcome to Bellwood: The Most Normal City in America."

"Normal sounds pretty good to me right now," Gwen said as she packed up her laptop and spellbook. "From now on, the only spelling I want to do is in spelling class."

"Well, I'm going to be practicing magic every day until I've mastered it," Jen said as she slipped her spellbook into her pocket. "It's a part of who I am. And you know that it's part of who you are too."

"While you two are hitting the books, we'll be hitting the bad guys," Ben smiled. "I bet the cops in town could use a couple of hands or a tail or some wings on the job."

"Yeah, about that guys," Max said. "I'm afraid that you two are going to keep the Omnitrixes our little secret for now. The less people know, the better."

"Even Mom and Dad?" Jen asked, clearly disappointed and bummed.

"I'm afraid so."

"But the world needs the Omni-Twins," Ben said. "Everyone loves us. We're all they've been talking about the last three months. We don't want to let our fans down."

"Image is nice, but it's not for the best," Max said.

"From superheroes back to plain old Ben and Jen," Becky sighed as she packed her weapons into her backpack and smiled. "Have fun back at school, guys."

"Well, there is one good thing about our school," Ben said with a sly smile.

"What?" Gwen asked.

"You don't go there!"

As the Rust Bucket dropped the twins off at their home in Bellwood, Max leaned down to their level as everyone bid their goodbyes.

"Ben, Jen," Max said. "I want you kids to know that even though this summer didn't turn out the way I planned, I wouldn't have changed a single second of it for the world."

"Us either, Grandpa," Ben said as the twins hugged their grandpa with a smile.

"Thank you. You gave this old Plumber new life. It was an honor fighting side-by-side with you two, Benjamin and Jennifer Tennyson."

"You weren't so bad yourself... Maxwell," Jen said with a wink.

Suddenly, the two kids were nailed by their large pet German shepherd Rex who drooled down as they laughed.

"Okay, Rex," Ben laughed. "Enough is enough."

That was when their mother and father came out. Their father had their brown hair and wore a green polo shirt, a brown belt with a gold buckle, khaki pants, and brown shoes. Their mother had golden blonde hair and wore a purple sweater over a lavender shirt, white pants, and purple Mary Janes. She also had her stomach protruding slightly outwards as her husband helped her forward.

"Ben! Jen!" their mother called as she jogged forward to them, being careful of the bundle of joy in her stomach.

"Mom! Daddy!" Jen said as she ran forward and hugged their father and mother as Ben followed.

"Whoa, careful please," their mother said as she stood up. "Lady with a baby here."

"Hey, Dad," their father said to Max as they hugged.

"Son, good to see you," Max said as he shook his son's hand.

"Hey, Uncle Carl! Aunt Sandra!" Gwen said as she and Becky walked up as Sandra hugged Becky intensely, almost breaking her back as she smiled.

"They finally found you, Becky!" Sandra said with a smile.

"It's good to see you, too, Aunt Sandra..." Becky smiled.

"You too, Gwen," Carl said as the two adults turned to their nieces.

"Now, I know you two and our little twins have had your differences. But I hope their personalities grew on you over the last three months," Sandra said.

"I suppose one or two of Ben's weren't that disgusting," Gwen said, giving Ben the stink eye as Allison walked forward and smiled nervously.

"Oh, and who is this young lady?" Sandra asked as she leaned down to the young goth girl as she smiled and shook her hand.

"Allison Levin," she said. "Jen's new best friend. They kind of picked me up on the road and the four of us really bonded over the trip. I'm kind of... homeless at the moment."

"Say no more," Carl said to her. "You're staying here, young lady."

"Thank you," Allison said, gratefully. "Just for a little while until I can get enough money to get my own place. I don't need to be adopted."

"It's nothing, really," Sandra said.

"I got a new job, Dad," Carl said to Max. "I'm the city engineer."

"That's great."

"You want to come in?"

"I'd like to, but I promised Frank and Lily that I'd have Gwen and Becky home hours ago," Max said. "They've been waiting for five years to see their daughter again. I can't tell you where we found her. You wouldn't believe me if I did."

"Did he share his famous Plumber with you two, Ben, Jen?"

"Uh, how did you-" Ben began.

"Your grandfather never failed to compare anything to a socket wrench or a pipe. There was always a plumbing emergency somewhere in the world to deal with."

Max shot the twins a wink as he walked back to the Rust Bucket and fired up the engine.

Gwen and Becky turned and sighed as they looked to her and smiled.

"Well... smell you around," Becky said as the two sets of twins hugged each other.

"You guys proved me wrong," Gwen said, especially to Ben. "There's more to you than just what I initially thought of you, Ben."

"Thanks," Ben said as their cousins turned and left into the Rust Bucket, which drove off, leaving the twins and their new friend behind as they looked at the house.

Carl and Sandra looked at the Omnitrixes and immediately grew interested.

"Well, those are new."

"Oh, these old things?" Jen asked nervously before innocently lying. "We won them at some arcade. We forgot they were even on our wrists."

The twins then looked after the Rust Bucket and Gwen and Becky as they smiled before the RV vanished from sight, leaving the twins and Allison alone as the elder goth jabbed Jen.

"I guess it's back to a normal life for us now," Ben said.

"You two are the furthest thing from normal as it gets," Allison smiled as they entered the house.

After showing Allison to the guest room where she would be staying for the time being, the twins went back to their rooms.

Ben looked at his green-walled room filled with Sumo Slammers' merchandise and airplanes and was completely messy from clothes and paper strewn everywhere.

"Here's your room, Ben," Sandra said. "Just the way you left it. Now please clean it up. I don't care how long it takes."

The pregnant woman then left the room with a smile as Ben immediately activated the Omnitrix.

"Not long at all, Mom. Not long at all."

Ben then adjusted to the proper form and slammed the core down, transforming into XLR8. He then sped all around the room and instantly picked everything up off the floor and made his bed and organized his desk in 3 seconds flat before standing proudly.

"Now to score some brownie points!"

He then rushed out as his sister was in the same predicament in her pink-walled room with tons of posters and figures on the wall as well as a TV on her desk.

"Wow. Was it really this bad three months ago?" she asked before she sighed. "No matter."

Her eyes glowed pink and all of the trash, books and junk immediately levitated off the ground and then set themselves in the trashcan and on the shelves lining the walls and closet before she smiled to herself and lied back down on her bed, content.

"So..." Sandra said to the twins as they all sat down to dinner at the table with Allison on the chair in the living room. "You not only cleaned up your room, Ben, but took out the trash, picked up the leaves and straightened out the garage all before dinner?"

"Yeah, pretty much," Ben said as he shot Jen and Allison a wink.

"And since time is money, I guess it's time you doubled our allowance?" Jen asked hopefully.

"Uh, good point," Carl said to them. "But, with all this time on your hands, guys, I'm sure you wouldn't mind one more duty?"

"Lay it on us, Dad," Jen said with a smile.

Rex then walked by and whimpered as Carl stared slyly.

"Backyard poopy pickup."

Jen groaned as Rex licked her and Allison smiled and rolled her eyes.

At Bellwood Elementary School, Ben and Jen had their stuff packed as their dad's car pulled up to the sidewalk.

"Maybe you guys could come to work with me after school," he suggested. "The natural gas pipe line we made is quite fascinating."

"Sure," Jen said, downcast. "Sounds... fascinating."

"You want me to walk you-"

"No!" Ben said. "I mean, it's cool, Dad."

"Thanks for the offer though."

"Where's Allison?"

"Finding a job," Carl said. "There's a lot of openings."

He then drove away as the twins looked up at the school and looked to each other with a sigh.

"We saved the world all summer, bro," Jen said. "This should be no problem."

"I agree," Ben said. "I mean, how tough could fifth grade be?"

"Like, oh my gosh!" a girl said as everyone inside gathered for lunch. "The Omni-Team are so awesome. My favorite one of their arsenal is the butterfly fairy. You know, my cousin was in that burning building in D.C. when the Omni-Twins rescued everyone."

"Yeah, she was okay, but what about all the others?" a boy asked. "Like that huge red dude? I downloaded this awesome clip of them battling this mutant freak on the Golden Gate Bridge. What was that form's name again? Quad Hands?"

"Four Arms," Ben coughed as everyone looked to him.

"We're pretty tight with the Omni-Team. They're taking a break for awhile because they have to spend time with family."

"Oh, well that's a bummer," a kid sighed. "Bellwood could really use someone like them."

The kids walked away as the lunch lady piled some foul-smelling gruel onto the kids plates as they groaned outwards in horror.

"I never thought I'd miss Grandpa's cooking," Ben said as they walked to separate tables.

"Ditto," Jen said.

Jen sat down at Casey and Simone's table as she smiled.

"Hey, girls," she said as her girlfriends smiled at her.

"Hi, Jen," Casey said as Jen sat down and pushed her food away from her.

"How was the rest of your summer after we met in Philly?" Simone asked.

"Eh, pretty boring for the most part," she lied.

"Our summer was pretty boring too. Not much new happening with my dad and me," Simone said.

"Yeah, and aside from the dozens of times my uncle was sent to prison, nothing with me either," Casey said, stirring her chocolate pudding.

Ben went over to a table when he saw his bullies Cash and J.T. picking on the kid from the beginning of summer, holding his smoothie away from him.

"This is a shakedown," J.T. said as Cash smirked. "Get it, loser?"

"Hey!" Ben said as he showed up by them. "Let him go!"

"No prob," Cash said as he let go of the smoothie, sending the kid tumbling and the smoothie flying back right to Ben before Jen flew in and swatted it away with her lunch tray.

"Leave him alone, you big bully!" she shouted with a glare. "What did he ever do to you!?"

Ben then nodded as Jen angrily prepared her Omnitrix... only for the school bell to ring as Cash and J.T. smiled and nodded.

"Guess we're saved by the bell. *Phew*, Tennysons," Cash said as they walked away, leaving the others fuming as she sighed.

"They'll never learn," Casey said as they walked away towards the gym.

"Don't play into their hands, sis," Ben said, laying a hand on her shoulder. "You'll just give them what they want."

"I know. But I can't bear to see them bullying others like that."

Later in gym class, after everyone had changed into their yellow gym suits, Cash and J.T. were picking the students for their dodgeball teams.

Ben, Jen, Casey and Simone were standing there, knowing they would be last when the twins noticed some other students talking.

"I attended this wicked magic show in Las Vegas over the summer when this giant alien dog suddenly appeared on stage and then some magicians attacked and some wicked warriors appeared to take them on."

"Nice," said a kid with glasses. "I heard about them. Actually, you should investigate my blog about the Omni-Team. Especially my first-hand account of this flower princess and this sinewy plant creature of theirs' saving the Mall of America."

"Hmm, it sounds like fascinating reading."

"We have a blog?" Jen asked, running her hands through her hair.

"What did you guys do this summer?" the kid asked the twins as they gasped.

"We, uh..." Ben began, looking at his Omnitrix.

"Rode around in a dumb RV with our grandpa and cousins," Jen sighed.

"Ha, and I though we were nerds."

"I got Peterson," said Cash.

"Arnold!" said J.T. as the nerds walked away, leaving the four alone.

"Of course we're last. We always are," Casey glared.

"I got Animal," said Cash as Casey walked forwards with a glare.

"Nesmith," said J.T. as Simone gave him the death glare.

"My family's rich, you know," she said. "We could easily have you two expelled if it was in my power."

This of course, left the twins alone as Cash and J.T. tossed the balls in their hands.

"Let's play dodge ball!"

But before they could slaughter the twins, the suddenly heard a terrific crash and saw the wall cave in as three floating mecha droids suddenly appeared in the wall.

"Aw man," Jen said.

"Could this day get any worse?!" Ben asked.

"What do those things want?" J.T. asked as everybody ducked for cover from the machines.

The droids then scanned the crowd and found the twins, confirming their Omnitrix signatures.

"Crap," Ben said.

The droids then deployed their weapons and started firing.

"RUN!" Casey shouted as everybody ran for cover.

The kids then ran away and screamed their little heads off and ran away as the droids flew in and started firing lasers everywhere as the twins looked to each other and nodded intensely.

"Let's hero up," Jen said as they ran in and suited up before transforming into Diamondhead and Firefly as they burst out and shouted out.

"Okay, who's first?!" Diamondhead asked.

"The Omni-Twins?" Cash asked.

"Here in Bellwood?" Casey asked. "That's impossible!"

Firefly flew over to her best friends and nodded. "Not only is it possible, little one, but we're here to stay."

"Our heroes!" one of the nerds cheered out.

Firefly then shouted out as she sliced through a drone with her claws as Diamondhead stabbed through one before his sister blasted fire at another.

"Everyone clear out! It's not safe here!" Diamondhead ordered. "We've got this handled."

"Yes, sir," Simone said as everybody ran away from the gymnasium.

The drones then floated down in front of the twins as they glared outwards.

"This is just between us. Leave them alone."

"Bring it on!" Diamondhead said, extending a blade from his arm.

The Omni-Twins charged forwards and blasted out crystals and fireballs that destroyed a few drones as they glared in the chaos.

"Behind you! Look out!" Casey shouted.

Firefly looked behind her too late as a drone snuck up and blasted her with lightning, knocking her into the wall.

Diamondhead gasped and grabbed his sister, slinging her over his shoulder by the tail and ran away from the scene.

"Where's the Tennysons?" J.T. asked. "I thought they were all buddy-buddy with the Omni-Twins?"

"Probably hiding under the bleachers like the scared little kids that they are."

Diamondhead burst into the cafeteria and glared outwards as he avoided the blasts from the evil drones as Firefly glared.

"I'll give you one guess who's behind this."

Diamondhead ran into the kitchen and blasted out crystals to the drones with Firefly blasting out her heat ray.

The drones avoided all of the projectiles and blasted out their lasers, which sent them flying into the glass window to the kitchen, shattering the glass.

The twins groaned and glared at the drones before Diamondhead struggled to his feet and created a blade from his arm and sliced upwards, knocking a drone backwards.

Firefly then got up to her legs and flew into the other remaining drone, slicing it up with her claws and then fired her heat ray from her abdomen that blasted the drone back into the ice machine, sending ice cubes out to bury it.

"You're iced."

The other drone suddenly recovered and charged its lasers up before it was suddenly blasted.

The twins looked behind them to see Matter Girl with her red energy cannon cooling down as she and Max came into the room with a smile.

"Grandpa max! Ally!" Diamondhead said as they ran over.

"I picked up a signal," Max said. "Drones were in the area. I picked up Allison and we got here as fast as we could."

"Think Vilgax sent them?" Firefly asked.

"Yeah... but we sent him hurtling through space, didn't we?"

They then saw Cash, J.T., Simone and Casey running into the cafeteria with a few cops as the Omnitrixes timed out and the twins quickly deactivated their Omni-Suits and Allison deactivated her suit as she walked over and rubbed Jen's shoulder.

"What are those two going here?" Cash asked.

"Uh, the twins told me it was... 'Bring your Grandfather to School Day!'" Max lied.

"And I came to... ask for for an application to the nearest middle school!" Allison agreed.

"Did they also tell you that they hid in the cafeteria while all the action was going down?" J.T. asked.

"You think we were hiding?" Jen asked. "Those things came for us."

"And the Omni-Twins?" Ben said. "They're-"

Max cleared his throat and Allison crossed her hands over her throat, telling them to cut it out.

"They're... pretty cool, I guess. We're close friends of theirs."

"Unlike you two," Cash said. "And no way those things would want you two. They don't eat chicken."

"Leave my friends alone, dude," Allison said as she grabbed Cash's shirt collar. "The last time I got into a hand-to-hand scuffle with someone, I fractured her windpipe. I can do the same to you just as easy."

Cash gulped as the team walked away.

"I just wish we could tell our friends and our parents that we're the Omni-Twins," Jen said as she looked out the window with Allison shrugging to her.

"Keeping a secret is never easy, guys," Max said. "Trust me. Every day I wanted to tell your grandma and our kids the truth."

"Well maybe if you had, you and Dad could get along better," Ben said.

"I can't change the past, guys," Max said.

The Rust Bucket then drove up to the Tennyson residence and the kids looked out as they saw the door was ajar.

"Huh?" Jen asked. "Someone's already in there."

"You coming?" Allison asked.

"Can't," Max said. "I promised Gwen I'd take her to a karate tournament. You guys miss her?"

"Of course we do,' Jen said as Max smiled and then drove away as they walked into the house before gasping as they saw the entire interior completely destroyed.

"No way," Ben said as they saw Vilgax walk into the room with a completely unconscious Carl in his grasp as he was bleeding from a gash in his head.

"Hello, Ben and Jen," Vilgax glared as Jen started to tear up in horror at the sight of her father as he groaned outwards as he was unconscious. "Your father and I were just getting to know each other."

"Daddy!" Jen said gasped.

"You've gone too far this time, Vilgax!" Allison shouted as the three kids suited up and glared as Jen coated her hands in energy.

"The Omnitrixes or let your father suffer the consequences!"

"Okay," Ben sighed in defeat as he and his sister stuck out their left wrists. "You win."

Vilgax grinned at his seemingly obvious victory.

"Psych!" Jen shouted as she blasted him with a pink energy blast and then grabbed her unconscious father with her telekinesis and set him on the ground outside of the house as she felt at his forehead.

"Ooh, that's a big bump," she said as she kissed him on the head and then went back to her team as the twins slammed the cores down.

Ben's Omnitrix sank into his wrist and his entire body started to bloat into a more rounded shape as he clutched his eyes shut. And when he opened them again, they were fully golden. His body was covered in yellow armored plates with a white inner body with black markings on his eyes and the Omnitrix symbol appeared on his forehead. He spun his body around like a ball before striking a pose as his transformation finished.

Jen's Omnitrix sank into her wrist as chlorophyll-filled veins grew up her arm and spread to her face, which turned chalky white as she clutched her eyes shut and they turned a full pink with energy and black lines grew out, marking her face like a mask. Her hair grew out into several leaf-like extensions with a few yellow stigmas growing from the top. Her clothes morphed into a pink long-sleeved uniform with green segments on the front and shoulders and white petals on the bottom, forming a skirt and pink shoes on her feet with root-like extensions coming from the soles with the Omnitrix symbol on her chest.

Cannonbolt and Water Lily glared as Matter Girl hoisted up her energy cannon, ready for battle.

"If there's one thing that you taught us to believe, Vilgax, it's to never believe you!" Cannonbolt shouted as he rolled forwards and slammed into Vilgax as Water Lily whipped out her high-pressured water streams, sending him flying backwards.

Matter Girl shouted out as she ran forwards with her metal coated axe-hands, sending the evil warlord flying back with each blow as she shouted out in fury.

"Come on!" Water Lily shouted as she dodged his swipes as they all ran through the house as Vilgax waded through the rubble, destroying everything in sight.

"How did Grandpa not pick you up on his Plumber radar?" Cannonbolt asked.

"Those first drones were mere decoys," Vilgax explained. "They created an electromagnetic field to allow me and the others to arrive undetected."

"Others?" Matter Girl asked.

"I don't merely seek to destroy you and your family. I want to destroy your entire putrid town!"

The drones then burst into the house and blasted out energy lasers that Cannonbolt blocked with his indestructible plates. He then grabbed the girls and rolled away as the drones blasted after him, not affecting his shell. He then rolled all around the house, bouncing off the walls as the drones followed him and blasted away as they he groaned as another drone popped up from the floor in front of him as he shouted out and unrolled.

Matter Girl and Water Lily popped out of his shell and then both sliced upwards with their respective water or shell blades and destroyed the drones.

Vilgax glared from down below as the team glared.

"When are you going to get it, Vilgax?" Water Lily asked. "It doesn't matter how many times you come after us. You'll never win. We have something that you don't: teamwork."

Vilgax glared as he suddenly felt a bite on his leg as Rex growled and gnawed at him in anger as he barked and barked.

The houses' foundations then crumbled as the team leaped downwards and faced the warlord as Rex walked over to Matter Girl and then nuzzled lovingly against her leg as she couldn't help but scratch behind his ears as he licked her face.

"I'll remember this," Vilgax said as he activated

"Good boy," she said as she pet him and he kicked his leg repeatedly as Water Lily felt her heart melt at the sight.

"That means he likes you," she said.

"What are our parents going to say about this?" Cannonbolt asked, looking at the destroyed house around them as they sighed.

"Mom did say that she wanted to remodel," Water Lily said, shrugging as the Omnitrixes timed out and she walked over to Carl and picked her up with her greater strength.

"We need to get him to the hospital," Omni-Pink said as she called Max.

The twins, Gwen, Becky, Allison and Max sat outside of the hospital room as they looked through the window and saw Carl on the bed with his head wrapped in a bandage and had some IV fluid being put into him as Ben sighed.

"Why did we have to put on those stupid watches?" Ben asked.

"Everyone says that it was destiny that we found them, even if it was a mistake," Jen said. "The fact of the matter is that this is our responsibility... along with everything that goes with it."

She then felt at the Omnitrix around her wrist and the doctor came out of the room with a sigh as he looked at his clipboard.

"What's the damage, doctor?" Max asked.

"Your son is going to be fine," the doctor said. "But he suffered a particularly nasty head injury and is suffering some memory impairment. Particularly short-term memory. Right now he can't remember his accident or anything else from the past 24 hours."

"Oh," Jen said as she sighed and sat down, breathing heavily. "Thank goodness. We're too young to lose our dad."

"I understand. He just needs some rest. You can go in now if you want."

The kids nodded and sat down to Carl's bed as he sighed.

"Hey, kids," he said as Becky smiled.

"Hey, Uncle Carl."

"Daddy," Jen said as she hugged him and he hugged her back and gave her a kiss on the forehead. "I'm sorry. The house is... destroyed."

"Ugh," Carl groaned in pain. "What happened?"

"Uh..." Ben began as he looked unsure.

"Casserole blew up in the oven!" Jen said. "The house burned down."

"Oh," he said. "I knew that I forgot something."

"You don't know the half of it," Allison said as she saw the sun set on the horizon through the window.

"We gotta go," Jen said. "We have to find a hotel to stay at until we can get a new place."

"Leave that to your mother," Carl said as he groaned and fell back asleep as Max pulled the blankets over him and sighed as they looked to each other.

"We have to stop Vilgax before he destroys the town," Gwen said.

"Once and for all this time," Jen said.

The Omni-Team looked out from the Rust Bucket with their weapons drawn as they looked to each other and nodded as they saw the drones blasting through the Main Street Parade, sending the citizens running away in a hurry as they shouted out in fear.

"Ready?" Matter Girl asked as she charged her energy cannon.

"I believe actions speak louder than words," Omni-Pink said as she charged her energy blasts and Ben prepared his arm cannons from his gauntlets.

"I've got three of them: aim and fire!" Max shouted.

The Omni-Team then charged out and fired energy blasts and arrows outwards that destroyed all of the drones that came right by them.

Huntress glared and spun her spear around as she shouted out as Omni-Pink created energy platforms beneath her feet as she ran upwards with her and she stabbed down with her spear and her cousin stabbed down with two pink energy swords that rose from her gauntlets as the drones were blasted downwards.

Enchantress blasted out her spells and fireballs that blasted all her drones downwards before she levitated herself upwards and used her telekinesis on the wreckage to blast into more drones, sending them downwards as Matter Girl stabbed into the last felled drone's processor with a stab from her foot.

"You can't beat the Omni-Team!" she glared.

Omni-Green and Max went crazy with energy blasts as they shouted out and glared directly at Vilgax as he appeared behind them.

Two police cars zoomed in through the streets and two more drones flew in and blasted down and blasted the cars aside, sending the cops skirting out for their lives.

"So much suffering," Vilgax said from atop a rooftop. "Are you prepared for more, Tennyson?"

"You talking to me, ugly?" the twins and Max chorused as Lucky Girl stepped forwards and joined Omni-Pink as they blasted out a spell that caused the rooftop Vilgax was standing on to crumble below them as the team glared.

"You just can't live without us, can you?" Huntress asked with a wink.

Little did the team know, Cash, J.T., Simone and Casey were ducking behind some cars and looked to each other nervously as Vilgax stood up and laughed at the twins.

"Grandpa?" Omni-Green asked as their grandfather nodded.

"Do it!"

The twins then looked out and nodded as they closed their eyes and degenerated their helmets as they activated their Omnitrixes.

"Okay, Vilgax," Ben said as they adjusted the cores.

"We're going hero!" Jen shouted as they slammed down the cores, catching the kids' attention.

Ben's hands then lost two fingers and morphed into black scissor-like claws before his entire structure started to take on a more velociraptor-like state and his skin grew blue with black-armor like plating with pink on the center as well as her feet morphing into a ball-like structure and his eyes turned fully green and he grew a long blue and black striped tail and his head into a more triangular shape before his face was covered with a black visor with green lighting as he struck a pose, finishing his transformation into XLR8.

Jen's skin turned a deep fuchsia pink and it shifted up to her eyes as she clutched them closed and she opened them to reveal they had turned a fully deep pink and a more compound shape as she smiled to the camera. Two antennae grew from her forehead and her hair turned a deep pink. Her clothes turned into a pink skintight one-piece leotard with the Omnitrix symbol on the belt. Two slits opened in the back of her outfit and two large pink, purple and red patterned wings burst forth. She flapped them rapidly and posed for the camera, finishing her transformation into Battlefly.

They glared at Vilgax as Cash, J.T., Simone and Casey looked out from behind the cars with their jaws dropped.

"Tennyson?" Cash asked in awe as Simone's jaw trembled.

"Jen?" Simone asked.

"Y-y-you're..."

"The Omni-Twins," XLR8 confirmed.

"Every single one of those heroes that appeared? All the crazy things that happened in the country over the summer? It was all us," Battlefly smiled.

"EEEEE!" Simone cheered, holding her hands close to her chest as she ran up and hugged Battlefly with a smile. "I can't believe it! My best friend and her brother are superheroes!"

"I don't believe it either," Casey said with a smile as the bullies just looked on in awe.

"We'll talk later," Battlefly said. "We have to punish a supervillain."

"Right," Simone said as she backed off and bowed before them. "All yours."

Even more drones flew overhead as she glared and Max looked to Allison.

"Hey, Allison? Ready for your first driving lesson?"

"Are you kidding me?" Matter Girl asked. "I'll just keep running into things?"

"Exactly my point," Max said as he gestured to the parade floats.

They then got into the floats and fired up the ignition as they smashed into the drones as XLR8, Lucky Girl, Huntress and Matter Girl all blasted away at the drones, destroying every single on in sight as they came forward before Battlefly blew all the wreckage away.

Vilgax glared at his entire destroyed army before he glanced to the twins as Battlefly gave a 'bring it' gesture.

"Drones are expendable," he said. "But now, you two will experience my full wrath!"

His steroid pumps sank into his arms, pumping them up full of muscle as he shouted out and charged towards our heroes.

Battlefly flew backwards and then dodged his punch before he grabbed her torso and then threw her against the wall, causing her to slump down with a groan.

XLR8 growled hatefully and then zoomed vertically up a building before he jumped off and flew at Vilgax, who simply swatted him aside as his sister flew up to him as they glared at their mortal enemy.

"We've got to stop this guy once and for all!" Battlefly said.

"But how?" Matter Girl asked. "He's indestructible!"

"...Maybe not," XLR8 said as he spotted a hole in the ground by her. "Hey, Jen? Remember when Dad offered to take us to his job?"

"Now you're talking!" Battlefly said as gestured her head to show her cousins and Matter Girl down the open hole into the lay lines.

"Vilgax!" XLR8 said as he shot his head to them as they glared. "Fine, destroy the town for all we care."

"But you'll never see us or the Omnitrixes again!" Battlefly said as she spat at Vilgax as she and XLR8 flew down the manhole.

"No one escapes me that easily!" Vilgax glared as he jumped down the hole after them.

"Now!" Battlefly whispered as Vilgax saw an arrow smack off of him and Matter Girl absorbed the concrete and slammed him in the head with her hammer hands as she dodged his blows as XLR8 leaped down on top of him before kicking him multiple times in the face as Battlefly blew him back with a tornado blast.

"We knew you couldn't resist playing 'Follow the Leader, loser,'" Huntress said with a smile.

"Gwen, now!" Battlefly shouted as Lucky Girl turned the valve which released a flammable gas into the air as she ran over to the team as she levitated them all up with her Telekinesis Charm.

"Your dad is not going to be happy about this," Lucky Girl sighed as her Fire Charm glowed and she once the team was just out of the hole, she closed her eyes and snapped her fingers.

Vilgax's eyes widened in horror as he was suddenly struck by a massive wall of flames.

Soon, throughout Bellwood, fiery explosions rang out through the sewer system, blowing all of the manhole covers off their frames, sending the citizens ducking for cover as the team suddenly teleported back to Max as Lucky Girl hit her knees as she sighed out with exhaustion as Simone and Casey ran over and hugged Battlefly immensely.

"You did it!" Casey said as Battlefly smiled at them and hugged them back.

"No. We did it. We're superheroes. It's what we do."

"Vilgax is finally burnt toast. For good," XLR8 said as he gazed over the wanton destruction the drones caused.

Cash and J.T. gazed outwards as they saw the twins smirking as Battlefly nudged her brother playfully.

"Go for it," she said.

"Alrighty, then," XLR8 said as he zoomed off, grabbed the bullies and then hung them from a nearby streetlight by their underwear as XLR8 smiled. "I figured since our secret was out..."

"Remember," Battlefly said to Casey and Simone as they turned to the Omni-Team. "This secret is something that you have to promise me that you'll take to your graves. Tell no one. Not your family, not your friends, no one at all. Unless they already know."

"Done," Simone said with a nod.

"You can trust us," Casey said. "We would never reveal something this big about our best friend."

"So..." Ben said as the fire department and paramedics arrived to put out the fires.

"I guess we'll... smell you around. For real this time," Gwen said as they went their separate ways.

The next day at school, after the Tennysons had checked into a hotel for the time being, Ben and Jen walked into the classroom and sighed in relief as Cash and J.T. left them alone and they high-fived their friends.

"Now we're talking," Ben smiled as Jen sighed and got to her seat in the class.

"I guess a hero's job is never done."

"Yoo-hoo!" they heard as they shot their heads to see Gwen and Becky sitting in the seats next to them.

"Gwen? Becky?" Ben asked as they gasped.

"You should be grateful like our parents were," Becky said. "I was almost crushed from the amount of hugs and kisses they gave me when I got back and my stomach was full to bursting with the amount of food they gave me."

"What are you two doing here?" Jen asked, shocked.

"We go here now," Gwen said with a smile. "Our dad just got a new job in Bellwood."

"Aw man!" Ben said as Gwen kicked back in her seat.

"I am so going to ace this class."

They then felt large stomps coming by them and they looked out the window to see Dr. Animo charging forwards in a mecha suit and a herd of mutated animals surrounding him as they charged towards the school.

"Yeah, after we ace Animo and his mutants," Jen said as the principal walked forwards and nodded to them.

"Ben, Jen," the principal said as they saw Allison peak out from the window with a nod. "I think it's time for an early recess, don't you think?"

"Definitely," Ben said as the two sets of twins ran out and ducked for cover behind the wall as they activated their Omnitrixes. "Going hero!"
