Chapter 1: Prologue
Third-person pov
kai and ben have been dating for the last five years(a/n: sorry ben and Julie shippers), they started to date shortly after he got back from the beginning of the universe with Roock and he invited her to explore the universe with him, sure thing she said yes and they spend a year in space going from planet to planet but eventually they got back to earth but already an item after all this time.
after they got back to earth they went back to London and after some long searches they found Excalibur and kai took it to keep it away from the forever knights' hands, now they were in a jungle in Brazil looking for an ancient temple rumored to be there, little did kai know ben was planning on proposing, in the year they spent together in space ben was in human form for 90% of the time and she learns to like and eventually love him for him and not his aliens, and she has been there for him when they saw some bad sights and he needed some help dealing with plumber intergalactic domestic problems that were really hard on him Emotionally, and she even supported him when he went Harvard to study psychology, and couldn't spend a lot of time exploring with her.
they were just perfect for each other and ben knew he couldn't live without her, so with the help of his aliens, he made her a ring to propose to her on this trip.
after they walked around in the jungle kai stumbled on something and after looking removing some vines they have found what appeared to be the Entrance to the temple.
"I can't believe it," kai said and she Laughed in triumph "we actually found it" she looked at ben who was also smiling but for a different reason but he said "yeah I know this is really great" he kissed her on the lips she said "come on let's go inside" and they went inside. they were in a tunnel and ben walked behind kai and saw that she had Excalibur hanging on her back in it's sheath, while he was doing that he was thinking about how he was going to propose to her when he heard her saying "Ben you have to see this."
he got out of the tunnel but before he could ask what was she talking about he saw it, it was the biggest gem he has ever seen in his life on a large and very tall pedestal, it was also glowing.
kai was getting closer to the gem saying "it's real, the gem of Tupã is real" ben cleared his throat and said as she turned around to see him "before we take this gem away and probably will Couse a curse to break out I need you to listen to me" he then took her hand and said "kai we have been through a lot in the past five years, and you have always have been there for me, and I was there for you, you are the greatest thing that ever happened to me and there is nothing more that I want then to go on the greatest adventure with you yet so.." he stops and go down one knee, and pulling out the ring before saying.
"kai green? would you make me the happiest guy in the universe and marry me?" kai was shocked, her hands are covering her mouth but soon enough she starts to nod and say with happy tears in her eyes "yes! yes! of curse I will marry you" ben sighs in relief and he gets up and kisses her before he puts on the ring on her finger.
the moment is interrupted by the sound of a slow clapping and then they heard a voice saying "well well well, Congratulations for the both of you, I hope you won't forget to invite me to the wedding." and a figure came out of the shadows and ben was shocked "eon? what are you doing here?" eon said casually "oh nothing much I'm just here for the so-called "gem of Tupã" for myself."
kai was shocked and asked "why? what use do you have for it?" he chuckled before saying "this gem is a device left by an old alien race that can change space and time as we know it so i will use it to bring my people back to this timeline," ben asked "and how are you going to do that?" eon grinned and said "like this" as he pulled out a small device and pressed a button.
at first, nothing happened but then the gem started to glow even brighter and they started to hear the humming to which eon said "this gem is activated to a very specific sonic frequency and guess what this device does?" as he said that a bright blue vortex started to appear and ben could feel a pressure pulling him in it "not today eon" he said as he pressed the dial on his watch and was engulfed by a glowing green light and after it died down in his place stood a much shorter creature that was a white bodysuit and had headphones for ears "echo echo" the alien cried out before splitting itself into seven different bodies.
the one with number 1 written on him said "if it's a matter of sonic frequency" it stopped and the one with number two continued "then it's the sonic frequency you'll get!", all the echo echo's stood in one line as kai drew Excalibur from its sheath and had put herself in a battle position.
but before ben and kai could do anything though several of eon's ninja minions showed up while eon said "do you think i was that stupid as to come here alone knowing full well what you are capable of?!" the ninja then jumped at ben's direction only to be met by kai swinging her sword at them.
ben was worried he didn't have a clear shot at eon and the gem with kai in the way, eon took this advantage and pressed another button seemingly speeding up the process as the vortex began to grow bigger and bigger bi the second, it was at that moment that kai moved out of the way and ben had a clear shot at eon.
all the echo echo opend their mouths and unleashed a sonic cry aiming at the gem and eon, using this form ben knew the exact frequency eon used and he chose the right one to counteract it, as he did so the gem started to crack and he Accidentally shattered it to little pieces "NO!!" eon cried out "you fool! you know what you've done?!" before ben could answer the vortex had started to destabilize and the room began to shake like crazy.
eon created a portal and ran through it and so did his minions but ben and kai still there so ben gathered his clones in a circle around the vortex and started to cry a sonic frequency in the hopes that it will close the portal shot, but somehow the portal shot one electrical bolt, killing number 6 of the echo echo clones and it started to pull kai into it.
all the clones jumped after her and pushed her away to safety but ben along with all his clones was now pulled into the portal all the clones looked at each other and all but number one said in unison "we must save the original!" as they kicked him out and into kai's arms "no! what are you doing?!" he cried out but it was too late as all of them were sucked into the vortex and it closed shot.
as the alien glowed in green and in his place stood ben he fell on his knees tears coming down of his eyes and on his face, he felt a hand on his shoulder and as he looked up he saw that it was kai and he said to her "this is not the first time a clone of mine died but this is different they are still alive I can only imagen what they are going through or even where they'd end up in." kai knelt down next to him and gave him a big hug before she caressed his face and said "they knew what the price was same as you, they were you and I believe that they would want to move on." she stops and kiss him gently on the lips before continuing "take as much time to grieve as you need and I'll be here for you just remember what they would want ok?"
he looked her in the eyes and smiled he got up and hugged her saying "thank you Kai I love you so much and I am so lucky to have you in my life" they then walked out of the temple while ben was still wondering what had happened to his clones at this very moment.
