Chapter 3: Awkwardness
Thomas stood by the door of the building. It was cloudy and a little chilly in this part of country and Thomas felt the cold. He thought of going inside and sitting down in his comfy room with other kids of the center. But then he realized , what difference does it make. he would be comfy that's right but his mind will be outside , waiting for Jess.
As Thomas was thinking all this he saw a beautiful figure walk down the road. Jess saw Thomas waving at her. She felt a sudden shyness inside her. To not be rude towards Thomas , she smiled and slowed down a bit then walker inside. Thomas followed her inside. "Hey I was kinda hoping if you are on social media or something cause I recently opened Instagram and... " Thomas kept on talking. Jess looked at him and said , " Yeah , I'm on Instagram , Jessica45 is my username.."
" Oh so your name is Jessica ? " Thomas smiled.
" Sounds funny to you ? "
" Oh , no no , Its just that . Jessica is like a famous Shakespeare character from the merchant of Venice. "
" Yeah , I get that a lot. Thanks. "
" Yeah. You must get compliment for your looks a lot too cause you're beautiful. "
Jess stopped and looked at Thomas. In her eyes there was rage. She was offended by Thomas's compliment. She said , " Thanks , but I'm not looking forward to getting in a relationship. " Then she stormed inside the classroom and went straight to the first bench.
Thomas stood surprised. He was more embarrassed than ever. He could feel his ears becoming hot and his lips sweating. He knew his face had turned red with embarrassment. He saw a boy looking at him in a way which said , " Damn bro , you suck at complimenting "
Thomas gave shrug towards that guy which said ," da fuk you looking at ? "
Thomas went and took a seat in the class. He could not tell what was wrong. What did he say ? Was he too straight up ?
