Chapter 20: Fire Dog (Part 3)
The young man refused the girl, saying, "We have a system for handling skipped numbers."
Then he returned the information card to Riley. "Beast Tamers need to provide proof for a photo registration."
It was exactly 12:00 PM, and the young man turned the sign at the counter, indicating that they were closing for lunch. He said, "We're closing now. You can come back in the afternoon."
Neither of them had their business processed, and Riley didn't mind. It was just something he thought of along the way.
However, the girl in the high school uniform frowned and said, "It's all your fault; if not for you, I would have finished my business."
Riley got up to leave.
A hand stopped him. "Hey, didn't you hear me talking to you?"
Riley looked bewildered, glanced around, and asked, "Are you talking to me?"
"Is there anyone else here?" The girl's slanted eyes widened.
At this moment, passersby silently walked past the scene.
