Chapter 1: Welcome to the Beast World

Violet's POV

Is that me? Why am I looking at myself? Was it raining that day? Yes it was. I see my body lifeless on the ground in the middle of the intersection. There are so many people around me. The sirens nearby are blurred in the distance. Those red lights are so bright it hurts my eyes. Did I get hurt? Are they coming for me? I feel like air. Weightless. Like a distant feather slowly falling from the sky watching the scene. I must have died. They are picking up my body and putting it in the ambulance. Everything is disappearing now. What will I do now? Where must I go? Am I dead?

I don't understand. One minute I remember it's raining and I'm on my way home from school and the next I wake up in a foreign world. It's night time here. Seems like I have been walking for hours. It's like I'm in a forest. It's so quiet and I can see the stars. They're so big and bright. I feel like I can touch them. I hear noise in the background so I turn around and walk towards it. I finally may have a chance to get out of here! I see a group of people around some light fixture. Maybe they are camping and they can help me find a way back home. The closer I get to them the more I can see their body figures. They are huge! And it sounds like a group of men. I wonder what they are doing all the way out here in the forest. They look like they have some type of bear or cat ears and tails. Maybe it's a costume party or something like that. I pray I haven't run into some psycho cult. I wonder what they are cooking, it looks good but raw. Why don't they roast it? It's a pity. Maybe some type of boar or large animal. I'm actually pretty hungry after walking for so long.

Oh they are walking towards the stream. Maybe I can grab something really quick and leave. They don't look too friendly. I run and grab some food while I have the chance and start running. I hope they don't catch me. I was so wrong! I start to hear growling near me. I start to walk back slowly and then see a figure of what looks like a man appear. Then I see more next to that figure and they start moving towards me. They all have tails and cat ears! OMG the psycho cult found me! I do what any normal person would decide to do and start running. How were they able to find me so fast? They were still at the stream and I made sure I kept a good distance from them. I start running towards what looks like another camp. Maybe there are other people like me here who are here instead of the psycho cult. As I creep closer to the fire-like blaze figure. I finally realize it's not a fire but the sun? Why is the sun so close to this field and why is it not scorching hot? I move closer and walk towards it to touch it.

"Don't touch you dumb beast. Do you know what it could do to you?' I hear a voice near me say

Where is this voice coming from. I look around the field and don't see anything for a few minutes. I keep walking forward and walk away from the sun like figure further into the field.

"I wouldn't go that way by myself if I were you." Says the same voice

I look around and finally I see what looks like a tail swinging back and forth pointing up from the ground. Is someone there lying down on the grass? I walked towards that figure to see if I could figure out who it was.

"I wouldn't come near my direction either. You never know if I could be a friend or a foe." The voice says back to me mockingly

"Why help me if you are not a friend?" I ask back

"True, that makes sense. Very well, go in the direction you were going before. But you may not like what you find there." he says and I see the tail come down and silence.

I can't go back that way. If I go the other way those men will get me. So I have no other choice. I start to run in the other direction. I feel like I've been running for hours. My feet hurt and I start to get more hungry. I dropped the meat I had in my hands earlier when I was running from that cult. Blast if I knew I wouldn't run towards a freeway I would've kept it. How long have I been here? Where do I go? Where is it safe? What should I do next? I keep thinking of what to do while I walk deeper into the forest. I think I am in a forest or is this some type of illusion? By now I have run into a few swamps or pools of water. I hear a lot of crickets and frogs. Sometimes I hear maybe wings of an animal above me. It's completely dark and now getting cold.

I know I need to find some type of shelter for me, but where? I haven't seen any caves or big enough trees where I can lay under or in it. My feet are starting to ache and I am at a point of exhaustion. I found some type of fruit that looked non-poisonous so I started picking at it in the bushes. They kind of look like blueberries. Well this will do. I start to hear some rustling noise in bushes near me. Did they catch up with me again after so long? That's when I saw another human figure coming closer. I didn't mean to take their food if that was theirs. I would've definitely found a way to pay them back for it. I keep running again and this time I don't stop for a while. Now my body is completely tapped out. I can't run anymore. I sit down to take a rest on a nearby log and check my surroundings. Still cold and nothing but deep, dark forest. Since I've walked deeper, I start realizing that I barely hear any animals making noise. I just hear the little streams of water and still wings?. Maybe it's safer to stay above than below. Should I go up and climb a tree? I start to walk and hear voices.

"You really think she went this way?" One of the male voices speaks

"If she did we would have found her." The other says

"There is no way she will make it tonight if we don't find her. Let's keep checking." The other male says

I try to not make any noise so that they can't hear me. I start to walk toward a big tree and decide that up is the best way for safety right now.

"Don't go that way either." I hear the same voice from before

"What? Where are you? You've been following me this whole time?" I ask out loud

"Don't be so loud, they will hear you." he says back softly

"Will you help me or not?" I ask back

"It depends if you are worth it to me." he says back laughing

"Maybe I should just let them capture me. Maybe they might explain what is going on here." I say back

"Females are very rare to show up in this territory. Are you someone that could fetch a good price?" he asks me

"Price? For what?" I ask nervously

"You must not be from around here. Your clothes are weird too. Maybe I should capture you and reap the rewards." he says back and I can tell he's grinning

I start to stomp near the voice I heard and try to catch up with him when something jumps out in front of me.

"There you are. The chief is going to be happy that we found a beautiful beast like you here in our territory." A man says to me grinning

This is one of the cult guys! He looks so scary. I give them props for the costumes they look so lifelike.

"What do you mean beast? And why would you want me? I have my own free will!" I shout back at the man who is moving closer to me.

"Free will? That is new. Take her and let's go back. It's getting dark." he shouts

I see maybe 4 men come into view closer to me. They are all huge like before! And they are half naked! They look like cavemen from back in the Flintstones days but way less on clothes.

"Don't run, woman! You will just make things harder for you. There is no way you can outrun all of us. So just come and let's go. You will just make things worse for you by putting up more struggle for us." he yells back at me

There is no way I am going to them. They do not look like they have good intentions for me and I don't know what they are planning for me. I start running in between the trees and start climbing up.

"Get her before it's too late! Once she is up she's no longer ours." One of the males screams out loud

I see them all start running towards me and then it looks like they all shift into wolves? Am I high or something? Did they just turn into animals, Better yet wolves!

A game-like notification pops up before me. "System: Choose your destiny and complete the quests for reincarnation. Who will you choose; The Wolf Chief, The Lone Panther or the Raven Prince?" What the heck is this? Am I in some virtual reality game?

"This can't be real I must be dreaming" I whisper

"Nope, not a dream and yes this is all real. Now it's my turn to take you." That voice from earlier says and it sounds like he is close. Too close, but why can't I see him?

"You can't take her, she is in our domain now cat!" I see a bird-like man come by and yell at the voice

"What the hell!" I shout and start climbing back down the tree

"Technically she's not yet. She's still in mine. So I will take her." The familiar voice says to the birdlike figure. Now I know where this voice is coming from. A beautiful cat-like man comes out. He has a black tail with green emerald eyes. He definitely has some sharp teeth with black catlike ears. He's gorgeous but looks super scary.

"She's above ground, she's mine!" The birdlike figure says and swooshes down to try and take me.

The cat-like figure, which is way bigger than a cat, is hit by the birdlike man and they start fighting. I debate if I should get off the tree or go up more but it seems like either way isn't a good option. Below are the men waiting for me to fall down. Where I am at I see both the catlike and birdlike men fighting and above looks like, well I can't see anything above. So what to do? I try to jump to the next tree to get away from all of them and I miss the branch. I see both figures stop fighting and run towards me. I start falling and there is nothing I can catch. Is this how I die? I hope I can wake up from this dream.

System Notification: Choose now; The Wolf Chief, The Lone Panther or the Raven Prince?"

Choose what? I have no idea? I don't know how to choose and which is which? Who is who?

System Notification; A choice will be made for you in 7,6,5,4,3 okay okay, "Raven Prince!"

I feel a pull and the birdlike creature lifts me up before I hit the ground. He saved me!

"Your loss catman!" he says to the cat figure and laughs while flying us up towards the trees.

I see the cat figure pissed trying to reach to the top of the trees to get me jumping back and forth between each branch, but it's too late. We are too high. When I stare back at him I realize how upset he seems. We go higher and higher into the trees and set forth towards a mountain. All I could see in his eyes was sadness. Maybe he would've helped me. Now I don't know where I'm going. We fly higher and in the distance I see more wolves joining the men that follow me earlier. A huge white wolf runs to the edge of the cliff and watches me leave. He howls so loud as if he's lost something. What a beautiful wolf. I wish I could pet you.
