Chapter 46: Rebirth

The energy settles as the mana storm fully dissipates. Cassie placed a hand on Kaleb's cheek and couldn't help but let out a smile.

"it's going to be alright." She said, her voice strained and barely a whisper as she tried her hardest to stay conscious.

Around them, Renna, Jareth, and Victor drop to the ground, utterly exhausted.

Suddenly, Atara and Rayna rush forward. Rayna reached him first, latching onto his limp form as tears began streaming down her face.

"Kaleb, please be fine…please…"

Atara is right behind her and drops to her knees, her face pale with worry.

Victor was watching on the ground a few steps away, watching the scene unfold before him. His eyes lock onto Rayna and in the heat of the moment, he notices something strange. As she clung to Kaleb her eyes caught the dim moonlight. Briefly, her pupils change, looking more like an animal's wild and primal.

He narrows his gaze, thinking to himself.
