Chapter 66: Tricks are for kids

Thorn smiled as SkyAzeroth disappeared, and immediately broke the ice shackle setting the prince loose from his frozen state.
Thorn spoke with a sense of urgency, "All is not lost my friend, come we must go before he returns. "
The prince was still downtrodden, "But..he has my fathers power.."
Thorn shook his head as he beckoned the Prince to follow him with a hand gesture. " No. He has the chaos stone, and soon he will realize that he has been tricked. For now, we must go, I'll explain when we get to our destination. "
Olaf followed Thorn out of the Throneroom back into the castle.
"Wait! Did you know Tide would betray us?"
This caused Thorn to pause for a moment, "No, I believed Tide to be my friend. In another timeline he was dropped into the endless abyss, when I visited him in the real world he was in a coma. I knew about SkyAzeroth appearing here, yet I never connected the dots. It seems we have been followed by the Sixth avatar all along. "
"What are you talking about?? Sixth Avatar?? Timelines?? How do you know this stuff? Are you from the future??" Olaf's brain was about to explode with all of the unanswered questions.
"Come, all will be explained in time."
Thorn led them through a series of winding passages and secret doors. After a few minutes, they arrived at another Throne room exactly like the other one, with one large difference.
Instead of a throne, there was a 40 foot tall stone egg with cracks running throughout it from top to bottom. The cracks spewed a different color every few feet and seemed to be arranged in a complicated pattern.
The egg hummed and vibrated, crackling with a tiny surge of energy that escaped every few seconds.
Thorn confidently walked up to the stone and motioned for Olaf to join him.
"We have to touch it at the same time. This will set everything in motion. It's hard to understand but this stone had been here untouched for thousands of years. "
"Doesn't that stone contain all magic?"
"Very astute of you, indeed it does including the chaos stone that the avatar stole. "
"What?? That doesn't make sense. How do you know all this? Aren't you a player?"
"Ha! Honestly, I don't know. I do know that YOUR only chance is to touch this rock and bring magic to the world, with me."
The prince moved forward and held his hand over the stone. They nodded to each other and together placed their hands upon it.
At the moment in which this happened, Olaf had a brief moment of insight as he thought to himself, "Wait, my forefather brought magic to the world? Archanos? Is that...."
A brilliant flash of light erupted from the stone and the two friends disappeared.
A moment later their surroundings had completely changed. Their consciousness had somehow merged with the stone, which was hurling through space towards a planet that greatly resembled earth as though it was an asteroid.
They felt as invisible spectators, unable to move or interact but could somehow see everything clearly.
The rock entered the planet's atmosphere, surrounding it with flame.
The large stone began to break up, forming ten smaller stones that flew in different directions, impacting the earth hundreds of miles from each other in a great circle.
An eleventh stone crashed in the very center of the circle, known as the Meta stone. The consciousness of the Prince and Thorn were attached to this stone, bound to it by some unseen force.
The force of the crash created a
massive crater in the middle of a dying forest.
As the dust cleared, Thorn and Olaf began to feel themselves begin to materialize with their hands upon the stone.
