Chapter 14: A Growing Child

Aza sat in silence. Flashes flowed through his mind as strikes of gold and silver rang through his memories. He couldn't believe it. Questions welled up, but he didn't even know where to start.

"Aza, do you understand what I've just told you?" Michael sat, watching Azas face for any signs of outbreak.

Aza thought carefully about his questions and decided to begin with the most obvious one. "What does that have to do with me Michael?"

"Michael now? Well brother, I'm going to make this clear. You are Azazel, and I'm going to need you to bear with me. With the way things are progressing, your cultivation is coming back to you at a rapid pace. Your source is no longer what it once was so we don't even know how you are growing so fast."

"What are you talking about?" Aza was confused.

"Aza have you noticed any changes to your body? Lillie tells me that you underwent pore cleansing, and even formed a core."

This only confused Aza more, then he understood. "You mean that stuff that came out of my skin and the starry ocean?"

Michael's face grew grim. He had never heard descriptions of a core formation as a 'Starry Ocean.' he pulled out his phone and typed a message to Lillie. "We need to solve this quickly."

Aza waited silently, questions still brewing in his mind.

In a few moments, Lillie opened the door and walked into the room. With a wave of her hand she closed the door. She took the seat next to Aza.

"Do you have it in you?" Michael inquired.

Lillie didn't respond, she only reached into her bag and retrieved a Silver bracelet.

"Please pass this to Aza. It's time for him to decide his future." Michael instructed.

Lillie somberly did as instructed.

Aza held out his hand and clasped the Bracelet in his grip. He felt warmth and a sense of calm from it. With all of the information and the feeling, he couldn't hold it back anymore.

"What do you mean my Future? You're telling the that a god is telling me to do this? Why can't I control this? What do you mean by All this, and what does this have to do with me?"

Lillie looked off into a corner, and Michael finished his drink. "Brother.."

"Brother? How am I your brother? I don't understand any of this!"

Lillie finally couldn't take it any more. "Azazel control yourself!"

Aza's eyes grew hot, and he could feel his emotions well up. His mind became sharp, and his surroundings grew dense. He looked at Michael, and focused on the bracelet. The patterns were of Ancient-looking runes surrounding it with the most metallic-looking Crystal that he had ever seen.

"Put it on and all will be revealed." Spoke Michael.

Aza continued to stare at the bracelet. He could feel a presence, 'His' presence. Anger grew in his heart.

Lillie finally turned to look at Aza, and was astounded. His eyes. They were glowing the most painful shade of blue she had ever seen. She could feel the yearning, the loss, the anger. As she attempted to speak, she was surprised to see Aza Swiftly put on the Bracelet. And then it happened.

Aza felt his consciousness expand, then concentrate itself inside of the bracelet. He found himself on an Island surrounded by a vicious sea. A sea of stars above shone in the night sky.

"You are finally here."

Aza spun around to see a man in a solid gold robe.

"Do I-"

"Know me?" He finished. "Not for a very long time. Once we were great friends, but then things took a turn. I honestly never expected for us to meet again."

"So who are you?" Aza asked, already knowing the answer.

"I am the one who breathed life into this world, am its god, its ruler. I am Creation. The beginning, and the End."

"So you're God?" Aza scoffed. "You're the one from the story?"

"One and the same," he replied.

"And What do you want from me?"

"Azazel, when you were cast down to earth you lived many lives. Sired many children. Those children inherited your powers. These are the Grigori. They became powerful, and attempted to enter heaven. I denied these Grigori, so they scattered amongst the stars and awoke a very ancient darkness. My brothers and sisters now know of earth's existence. They have started to appear, and have started walking among the humans."

"My children? My Children? So it's my fault?"

"Not your fault, it's mine."

Aza pondered. He found nothing to say. "So what do you want from me?" he asked the god.

"I only wish to give back what was once yours. Everything you see here, aside from me, is of your own creation."

"You mean?"

"Yes, you created this, something only I was capable of until you created something so powerful, that it could undo everything I made. Something that spread to everything that I had ever created. You draw your power from that. It's why you have been growing stronger ever since I released you from the curse."

"You cursed me. How am I supposed to believe you? After everything that you've just told me?"

"I don't expect you to understand, but I was afraid that my own creation was growing so strong that one day, you would become stronger than me. I was terrified that my own creation would destroy me."

Aza looked away. He looked to the stars. He could feel the swell of the ocean. It was angry, he could feel its fury. It was endless.

"I'm going to give you what you never had. A spark of divinity. If I do this though, you will have to promise me that you will protect this world. I will be unable to help you until the other gods arrive. I will have to rest until that day happens. Can you promise me that?"

"And why would I promise you that? You did all of this. You forced this on to me!" Aza felt something inside of him begin to take over. He felt his eyes burning as if they were flames themselves. He felt it wanting to speak. He couldn't hold it back any more. "You took everything from me! You took her, my son, my life! I did everything for you!"

A tear fell from the god's eye. "Azazel.."

"I did everything you asked! I hunted everything you deemed to be evil! I killed my own brethren at a single word from you!'

Aza felt pain all over his body. He could see Steam coming off of him. "What are you doing to me?!" demanded Aza.

"This is not me, my child. This is your own power. You have grown so quickly, that your body is undergoing changes at a rapid pace. If unassisted, your body will break apart. Quickly, you must be still."

The god rushed forward, placing his hand on his head and another over Aza's heart. Aza felt a cooling sensation as he sent energy into his body. He could still feel his own energy growing, cascading through him, just as the waves that raged around the Island.

"Look to the stars my child. Find solace in the fact that you will one day rule among them."

Aza fell to his knees in pain, looking to the stars. He could see the stars growing brighter, slowly, they grew brighter. Converging into themselves. Growing smaller in quantity, but growing larger in quality. It felt as if the universe were converging into a single point in his stomach. The density grew, and so Aza continued for what felt like eternity.

The god, having finished, stumbled backwards.

Aza felt a weight fall off of him as if he'd been carrying the world on his shoulders and released a terrifying roar.

The world shook in response to his anger.

"Even heaven trembles before you my child.."

Aza rose to his feet. And looked at the god. "Old man one day, we will settle old wounds."

"We shall then" he let out.

Bright light erupted from Aza, Black runes wreathed in blue flames, sprouted and encircled him.

"Chaos…" Spoke the god. "What have I created…"
