Grace's POV

I stormed off towards the stairs and while I went downstairs alone, I felt Jack’s eye on me the whole time. Peering up, I noticed him leaning on the railing, following me closely but giving me space to deal with this myself. I knew it had to irk his alpha wolf to stand back and watch, but it also made my respect for him grow. And yeah, perhaps I fell just a little bit more in love with him…

Pushing through the crowd I headed straight for Cole when his fingers suddenly gripped my upper arm and I jerked to a stop, not even realizing that he’d come for me. Spinning to face him, I realized that the sparks that I used to feel when our skin touched weren’t there anymore.
