Chapter 1: Headache
"Hahh... Hahh... Hahh... Hahh..." A young man's gasping breath could be heard in the room.
'Where I am?' the look of a young dark-skin boy did not stop, he looked at every inch of the place, all he could see was the bed where he woke up
"Ahggg! M-my head…" he clutched his temple instinctively, his free hand balling into a fist, his nails digging into his own skin.
He had no memory, no recollection. There was only a sharp pain every time he tried to remember something. His mind is empty.
"X-xia, Tao woke up!" A stocky, dark-skinned man with black hair entered the room with a loud cry.
'Who is he?' was what he wondered, there were so many questions in his head.
"D-did he really wake up?!" Another scream came from outside, a female voice.
Immediately a woman entered, a lady who seemed to be around 40, white complexion and also black hair. They both wore green and yellow clothes.
"Son!" Their voices joined. The concern was what was most noticeable in them, it seemed that at any moment they were going to break.
Not understanding anything, the boy didn't move. But he was happy, something in him made him feel that feeling. A smile inadvertently escaped him.
He was surrounded by their arms. A big hug that made his heart even happier.
But 'why?' that question joined the long line. Why did these people make his heart pound?
"W-we thought we lost you!" the big man held back his tears.
"Tao..." The woman couldn't resist and she burst into tears seeing the state of her son. Her tears fell from her pretty green eyes, she hugged her husband, she didn't want her son to see her weak.
The young man looked at his "body", his pale skeleton arms startled him, his eyes widened. 'W-what?!' His entire body was in a similar situation.
"Y-your... Your friends brought you here in a terrible state..." The dark-haired man expression darkened as he remembered.
"You were right, son…" The darkness in his face was gone, anger suffused.
"But it's already late..." Mao lowered her head as she said this, she couldn't meet his eyes.
"They left you unconscious in bed... For a whole month" the boy's body tensed upon hearing all this.
'What the fuck happened?'
"T-tonight... you'll have to leave here, Tao" the woman finally spoke, her eyes puffy and with many mixed emotions.
"Yes...it's not safe here" the man grabbed his son's shoulder, he didn't want to lose him again, but it was the right thing for him to live.
"Why?" Tao finally spoke, his gruff voice taking his parents by surprise.
"You tried to kill the Queen..." His tone was grim.
"K-kill?" The boy trembled upon hearing that word. Mao ignored his son's uncertainty.
"The Avatar is coming to Ba Sing Se, it's a good time for you to escape..." They couldn't take any more risks, they could go after the young man at any time.
The black-skin boy froze, his eyes turning white.
'Avatar?'
'Avatar?'
'Avatar?'
'Avatar?'
'Avatar?'
'Avatar?'
The throbbing in his head increased in intensity.
Avatar, that word was so familiar and unknown at the same time.
Without saying a word, Tao grabbed her head tightly.
"Son!" Mao shook his son by the shoulders.
"Are you okay, Tao?!" The woman with a broken voice asked, took her son's hand..
To Xia and Mao, her son had frozen at the very instant the Avatar was mentioned, everything in it simply stopped.
"I-I have... I have to get out of here!" Snapping out of his thoughts, Tao shoved his parents to the floor.
He needed answers.
"Agh! Shit" the muscles in his body had weakened, he fell to the hard ground trying to escape.
"Tao, wait!" His father, who was lying on the ground, tried to stop him.
"I have to go!" The poisonous look of his son left him speechless, what was he happening to his dear son?
"T-tao!" His mother, also on the ground, tried to grab his arms.
"Let me go!" The pain did not stop increasing,
those stitches were torture.
"N-no, son" there was fear in her voice, her mouth was trembling.
"AHHH!" Tao swung an swipe to free himself, a great gust of wind following his action.
His parents were sent crashing into the hard walls of the room.
"Hey...?" Finally standing, Tao looked at his hands, the tremor increasing along with the headache.
"I-I... I did that?" Had his trembling hands released a great gust of wind?
He then looked at his parents, an expression of terror was what he could see in them, fear in his eyes.
Tao's heart began to beat faster. He didn't want to watch anymore. He ran with a clear limp.
